Summary: In which the sorting hat is outlawed, and new students must be sorted by some other means.
[Report This] Summary: A twist on the de-aging plot. Harry discovers that, sometime prior to Voldemort killing his 'parents', he had been de-aged back to a baby. Who was he before? Bonus points if he and Severus already had a history.
[Report This] Summary: Harry and Horace Slughorn arrive back at the castle after nightfall having left Hagrid's hut. Horace is still drunk and Harry still high on liquid luck! However, they bump into Snape!
[Report This] Summary: All Muggleborn students and halfbloods are required to take a Wizards Studies class to teach them basic Wizarding life skills, such as banking, Wizarding government, voting, how to petition the government, go to court, contact the Aurors, denome a garden, cook food, send public post, floo etiquette, request a portkey, international travel, find reputable stores, etc. Somehow Harry got missed when it came time to take the class, but he can't graduate until he passes the Wizarding Life Skills test.
[Report This] Summary: Harry comes back to school after a particularly bad summer with the Dursley's. He goes to the room of requirement to escape for a while. The castle's magic senses that Harry needs Snape. Maybe include glamours?
Everything else is up to the author!
[Report This] Summary: Harry didn't go to Hogwarts when he was 11. He didn't go when he was 12, or 13 either. No one knows where Harry is or what he's been doing. They know he's still alive because some kind of magic has been preformed to prove that he is, but they can't find him.
Then one day someone does stumble across Harry Potter. He hasn't been living with the Dursleys (you decide why). Instead he's been living with another family. A family who has treated him fairly decently. Questions to think about: - How is this Harry different from the canon Harry, or the same? - Who finds Harry and what do they do when they realize it's him? - Why didn't he grow up with the Dursleys? Where are they or what has happened to them? - Who informs Harry that he's a famous wizard who is supposed to be in wizard school, and how does he react? Does he want to go? - When Harry goes to Hogwarts, does he adjust well? What house does he end up in? Does he still become friends with Ron and Hermione? Does he feel out of place or right at home? Must Haves: 1) Harry must attend Hogwarts. He is either going into 4th year, or 5th year, you decide. 2) Dumbledore assigns someone to help Harry adjust and give him extra tutoring to get him caught up. Who that is is up to you. It could even be a student. 3) Snape must be involved in some way. He can be an enemy, mentor, or whatever. You choose. 4) Harry returns home to the people he's been living with for holidays though you don't have to show this. He loves that family and is unwilling to be separated from them. All other details up to you. Have fun with it. No slash, no drabbles. Should be longer than a one-shot. [Report This] Summary: A Potter has badly injured someone, and as usual it is left to Snape to pick up the pieces.
[Report This] Summary: Harry gets to wish for one thing and as wishes go it comes true in the most unexpected ways
Suggestions: - Harry wishes to have his parents back and wakes up to a world where he grew up with Severus as his father and another Canon character as the other parent - Harry wishes for a home - Harry wants to have a new pet - Harry wishes the war never happened and sees himself as the person he would've become then (Draco Malfoy copy?) - Harry wishes that every death eater gets the chance to walk away from voldemort and loose the dark mark [Report This] Summary: Orphans or abused witches and wizards are sent to a wizarding children's home and unable to be adopted or fostered out in order to keep them safe. Severus Snape spent some time in one, and now Harry Potter arrives. Is this home as good as it should be for The Boy Who Lived? Snape is a frequent visitor or worker at the home..
[Report This] Summary: Remember in Snape's memories, when Dumbledore says "Sometimes I think we sort too soon."? What if Dumbledore had acted on this and decided that the sorting ceremony would be mandatory every year (for all classes)?
The plan is to accommodate changes in character, lessen house rivalry and give heads of house the chance to bond with different children and possible aid them in a way a colleague could not.
