Summary: I can't take credit for this challenge. My friend Darkarma came up with this challenge and said it was ok for me to post it here.

Harry makes a bet with Snape that if he can brew a Polyjuice potion on his own within a single month perfectly, that Snape would have to crack down on his house and act like a respectable teacher. If Harry fails he has to resign from competing in the House Quidditch competitions for the rest of his time at Hogwarts. Snape of course will provide the proper supplies.

Summary: Harry is kidnapped and Draco is the only one who saw it happen and who knows who did it. How does Snape fit in?

Summary:

Harry’s friends kidnap him to save him from his relatives and Snape is one of the Order members looking for them, finally finding them in their refuge…

After Sirius’s death and the end of the fifth year, Harry is sent back to the Dursleys'. First they leave him alone because of the Order’s threats, but later when Dudley beats Harry severely and there is no retribution, they decide to show Harry precisely how much they "appreciate" the Dementor incident. They monitor all the letters Harry sends to his friends and the Order doesn’t bother to check on the situation personally. Harry is slowly reaching the end of his powers and finally after some hesitation, put a secret plead for help into his letter. Ron and the twins go to their parents and the rest of the Order and press on them to act, however the only result is that Molly sends Harry some food, which is immediately confiscated by the Dursleys'. After that, Vernon beats Harry even worse than before. When Ron recognizes three drops of blood in the corner of Harry’s next letter that Vernon and Harry had overlooked, he decides to act on his own as the adults clearly won’t help. Therefore, one night Ron, Hermione, possibly the twins, and some others (like Ginny, Neville or Luna) sneak into Privet Drive, take a badly battered Harry into a Muggle car and escape a Muggle way, never intercepted by the Order. The next morning the parents discover that the teens are gone, and Harry as well.

Two days later, when Snape finally finds the mistrusting children hiding in a small cottage far away from Surrey, all desperately trying (and failing) to treat his many injuries and discussing the possibility of contacting the Order or bringing Harry to a Muggle hospital, he has to use all his powers to save Harry’s life. Of course, the day when Harry’s high fever finally seems to lower a bit and he begins to heal, a big article appears in the Prophet that the wards around Privet Drive have fallen and the Dursleys have been killed. The article also points out that Harry and his friends have mysteriously disappeared about the same time. The previous events on the Ministry, when twisted a bit, also don’t help Harry’s case. So now Severus Snape must somehow coexist with the children who forced him to swore an oath not to reveal them to anybody until Harry heals completely because they no longer trust their elders, heal the boy he hates (or hated), start to think of the way to clear Harry and possibly his friend from the accusations of the Dursleys’ murder and keep both Dumbledore and Voldemort far away from him for a time long enough.

Summary: Where Snape kidnaps Harry and either kills him himself or hands him over to Voldemort.

Summary:

At the age of seventeen, Harry Potter has finally killed Voldemort, finished his education at Hogwarts and begun studying to become an Auror. However, the situation at the Ministry has changed. A new Minister has been elected, one that detests Harry and feels endangered by him, his influence and his fame. He pulls every string he can think of to get Harry out of the Auror program. Finally, he discovers that Harry’s mark at the OWLs from Potions was an E, as well as on his NEWTs, and that it was still recognizably better than how Snape usually marked Harry. Not entirely legally, they put his marks in question, stating that he should have never been accepted to the program in the first place. Despite Harry‘s protests, he is told that he can’t continue his training unless he gains a Potions' Master title as an apprentice under some Potions Master that was authorized by the Ministry. Unfortunately, almost all the Potions' Masters are under the influence of the Ministry and absolutely refuse to accept Harry.

Harry is in the second year of the Auror‘s training. He loves the thought of being an Auror and he also desperately wants to prove himself against the Ministry. Because of that, he decides to take his last chance of becoming an Auror in the UK – to serve a three-years long apprenticeship under Severus Snape. Will Snape accept him, or must Harry pretend to be someone else (and what happens when Snape finds out)? What sort of power holds the Master over his Apprentice?

The story should probably stick to the canon at least to the end of the HBP.

Summary: After Professor Snape kills Dumbledore, Harry follows him back to Snape's house intent on killing him. They engage in a battle that will end one of their lives, unless one is willing to save the other. Does not have to include Dumbledore's death.

Summary: Write a story where Voldemort returns to the Shrieking Shack and finds Harry collecting Severus' memories as he dies. What happens next is totally up to you! Extra points if Severus attempts to attack Voldemort while dying or if Severus pulls through somehow and Harry never views his memories.
[Report This]
Summary:

Using their minds' contact, Voldemort has succeeded in trapping Harry in his mind (or they're both in Harry’s? Decide on your own). Harry is strongly depressed (possibly after Sirius’s death) and doesn’t have the will to fight Voldemort. With this state of things, it will take Voldemort only a few days –or even hours - to change Harry into his obeying slave, to destroy his mind completely or to manipulate him into becoming Voldemort’s loyal servant. Severus Snape must somehow persuade Voldemort to let him into their minds too, or get there by Legillimency (or any other way). There, he has to give Harry back the will to fight and live, he must go with him back to some of his memories, both good and bad ones, and help to heal Harry. He discovers the truth about Dursleys, see himself from Harry’s point of view in some potion’s class (or during another occasions) and finds out why Harry‘s friends like him and honour him. He must find a respect for Harry and show him that his friends care about him and that he isn’t quilty of all bad things that ever happened. Then, together, Harry and Snape can fight the battle against Voldemort. PS: Snape must be very careful or Voldemort will discover too soon what his intentions and he could try to kick him out of this

    Bonus points:
  1. You can play with other peoples‘ reactions to this whole matter. Where was Harry when his mind was trapped? At the Dursleys? At Hogwarts? At the Grimauld’s Place, at Weasley’s home or hidden somewhere else after he had escaped from his previous location? What will Dumbledore, Ron, Hermione, Remus, McGonagall or Sirius (if you doesn’t kill him) think about this? How does Harry act during the trapping? Does he eat? Can he be seen as mentally unstable by the Ministry again?
  2. The sharing of one mind requires also sharing of the memories. For every memory of Harry’s life that he is forced to see, he will see also one of Voldemort’s and later Snape’s. Voldemort can be using those memories to manipulate Harry even more, Snape – that’s up to you. If you feel to it, you can even do a bit of Voldemort-psychology, like why he’s a bad guy or if there is some hope for him. OR Voldemort’s memories doesn’t show up at all, but Snape has to share his with Harry for a reason (so Voldemort won’t kick him from the connection, to make Harry listen to him etc.)
  3. Enjoy the mind land. Desribe it as you like it. Invent new laws that stand there.
  4. How will Harry and Snape (and Voldemort) feel and act once the link is broken? Where was Snape during the process, next to Voldemort? What happens?

Summary:

Harry is growing up with the Dursleys and nobody is very happy about this. The last straw is when some bad accident happens that could have ended with death of the whole family. Harry's accidental magic somehow saves them, but Vernon is blaming Harry from the incident and he wants to take revenge on him - and starts doing so immediately, trying to "dissolve" the threat Harry poses for his family, force him into submission and hereby "protect" his wife and son from the "dangerous little maniac." Despite her jealousy, Petunia understands that Harry didn't want anything bad to happen and that he saved them all. She dislikes Harry strongly, but doesn't wish him any direct harm, or at least not in front of her eyes. She knows she can't protect Harry from Vernon's rage, so she believes it would be the best if Harry left their house - forever, and as quickly as possible, before Vernon gets too far. She has no way to contact Dumbledore or anyone from the magical world, but then she remembers that there might be one wizard she knew some time ago. She packs Harry the few things he has, gives him some money for train and/or bus tickets and the house address, where Severus Snape lived thirteen of fifteen years ago...

With his aunt's doubtful blessing, his papers, a rucksack, a few pounds and a short letter for Snape, Harry is sent to the north of the country to find himself a new guardian. His aunt also told him never to come back and not to mention his relatives' names to anybody. If this man, the black haired Severus Snape or his father Tobias no longer live there, he should ask someone to help him and go into an orphanage. To the people around Privet Drive and to Vernon, Petunia says that some distant relative of Harry has suddenly appeared and taken him to his home (whether or not Vernon believes that is not important - in his point of view, Harry could be send to Siberia for bear hunting and he wouldn't care).

Harry is 8-10 years old (his letter hasn't arrived yet) and doesn't know anything about magic. His aunt told him that he is "strange" and that this Snape person would be the same as him. Now he has to get to Spinner's end and find him, hoping for a new family, a father; at the same time he is afraid of this mystical dark Snape figure. He has a very vague knowledge of how the man should look (Petunia hasn't seen him for at least 10 years and even then she wasn't interested in him in any way, and she didn't try that hard to describe him to Harry). He has only a small amount of food with him, the rest he should purchase for the money Petunia gave him. He still doesn't know the real value of money very well (after all, he never had any money). Can he manage to find Snape? And if he finds him, how will Snape react?

    Bonus points:
  1. Get Harry to Spinner's End. How can the small child not get lost in the big city and in transport? (let him travel through London. There may be big troubles waiting for him). There may be people asking for his parents or if he needs help, and people he will get into trouble with everywhere, like homeless people etc. What if he got robbed? What does he find fascinating on his trip, how long does it take to him, how would he feel if his train leave a minute before him because he was confused with the platforms? What would he do with the money when he goes to the shop for food? (It's the first time he has any money, can he remain sensible and not spend it all at once?)
  2. Finally there - will Severus be in the house? What time of the year is it? Will Tobias Snape still live there? And if Harry finds the house empty, how would he feel? Will he break in so he could wait for his new father/not have to go to the orphanage? How will Snape (Severus or Tobias) react?
  3. Dumbledore's reaction - will he discover that Harry is missing? Will Snape go looking for Harry?

There are many more things you can play with, depending on the direction of the story, it's length etc. Don't feel too bound with those suggestions, use your own imagination. Have fun.

Summary: Now that Dobby is free from the Malfoys, he can seek redress for all the wrongs the Malfoys, especially Lucius, did to him. But this would never occur to him, except when Lucius crosses the line and harms Harry. After Dobby, with Snape's help, heals Harry, he decided to exact his own brand of revenge upon Lucius. Should take place right after COS, Snape must be involved in getting Malfoy to Hogwarts, both Snape and Harry know Dobby is angry, but not that he is planning revenge, how they discover it and what happens when they do is up to you. Be creative, give Lucius what he deserves! Bonus if Draco is also involved.
