Harry and the two sinks in the master bath -- reminded me of the antique bathroom sink at my paternal grandparents' home: it had two faucets (each with its own spigot), one for cold water on the right, and one for hot water on the left. Simple enough to make warm water by putting the rubber stopper in the drain hole, then running water from both faucets into the sink basin. But in a pinch, to get "warm" water without taking time to fill the sink, you could turn on both faucets and shuttle your cupped hands back and forth from cold to hot to cold to hot very quickly, so as not to get burned by the hot! Many people today have never encountered such a sink, but it was very cutting edge back in the early days of indoor plumbing! Thanks for the memories! 😺

I haven't been here at P&S for rather a while. I just discovered this story and am enjoying it quite a bit! I don't remember (if I ever knew) how to contact an author directly outside of reviews. (Reading at different fanfic sites that are all different can confuse a person.) I'm glad there are more chapters ahead, since it's a pleasure to keep reading. My one observation is: the past tense of the verb 'to lead' is properly spelled LED, not to be confused with the metal (or the present tense of the verb). You can lead (pronounced "leed") a horse to water in the present tense, but once you've done it, you can say--and must write--that you LED him. Old plumbing pipes are made of lead (pronounced "led"). Just remember the past tense of the verb "to lead" is ALWAYS spelled "led".

It's that darned metal that confuses everything. The metal is spelled like the PRESENT tense, BUT PRONOUNCED like the PAST tense. Sorry if I was tedious--I only hope I led you to the right spelling.;-)

Author's Response: Yeah, I haven't beta'd the work. Whenever I reread the chapters I find little typos and mistakes but I decided to spend my time writing more chapters rather than going back. Eventually I'll get to it. I'm glad that you like the story. :)

I enjoyed everyone's perspectives of their new location. Hoppity's adventure in grocery shopping was especially funny. If she is going to be cooking and cleaning the Muggle way as well as working as a secretary, she is going to be really busy.

Author's Response: Snape will help out, as he is the more competent one. :)

I couldnt not tell you how brilliant a writer you continue to be when you made me laugh so much with this:
the old coot would be less likely to bother him on a whim as the headmaster was wont to skip gaily along the halls the week before the students arrived, casting learning enchantments everywhere.
    Fantastic image ^^
and Martha Jones with an American accent... interesting ^^
brilliant so far, I'm really enjoying reading this in my spare moments ^^

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your feedback! I am so glad that you are enjoyig the story. :)

Well, it sounds like they have a really nice house to stay in, at least. I like the sounds of Harry's bedroom, especially.

I can sympathize with Hoppity here--grocery shopping can be overwhelming even when you know what you're doing!

And when is Snape going to wake up and smell the coffee? Does he really think he can live in splendid isolation here?

Author's Response: Haha, Snape will learn quickly that they are not as safe as he thinks they are. Thanks for your review! :)

So you made their house with the Sims? That is so cool! (I love that game). I'd like to see that if you get a chance to add that link. This story is excellent so far!

Author's Response: Yes, with the Sims 1! The link is down because I broke all the image links and I have to go and repair them. I'll get it back up soon! Thank you for your review! :)

    Jan,
I bet a grocery story would be an overwelming experience for the first time. So many choices!

So Snape just thinks he is going to be left entirely to his own devices and won't have to take care of Harry? Somehow I think you aren't going to let him get away with that! LOL!
    Tracy

Author's Response: Muah ha ha ha!! That's right! Snape is going to have to step up. Thanks for your comments!

Lol! I loved how Harry didn’t know what the heck he wanted when he first woke up. That’s just like a little kid to be that way, and it was so cute! Harry’s discovery of his bedroom was fun. The description in this part was done very well. (Almost made me jealous, hehe) Great stuff!

Author's Response: Thank you thank you!! :D :D

Well, Snape using magic is certainly not going to last long. :-P Aww, and poor Harry, not feeling comfortable on the bed. Was he just too tired, before? Why isn't crawling under the covers good enough? I love how the perspectives of each character are so different. You do such a good job especially of capturing child!Harry and confused!Hoppity. ;-) I want to keep reading! (It really is a test of my patience to try to review every chapter--I just want to click to the next one!)

Author's Response: Yay! Thank you. :D

Abused children will often sleep under beds... it's like a way that they feel safer. Harry is more likely to miss the closed in feeling he used to have with his closet when he was a child and especially since as he is now smaller, everything seems much much bigger. It's a new place, a new room, and he's had alot going on. He might just feel an urge to have somewhere safe to rest. Well, safer.

I just love this story Jan, and I found it unique among all those posted. I hope you can post a chapter soon

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you! :) Unique was what I was trying for.
