Snape's mother seems to have been somewhat okay. She did tell him about magic, and he did want to follow in her footsteps. So he should have some idea how to be an okay-ish parent.

I must say, he is being a rather bad double agent here. I sure hope he is better at pretending to be a loyal death eater than he's at pretending to be Harry's nice and normal father!

Good thing they have Hoppity. She's right, Harry not having any toys would draw attention!

That was a long day for Harry. It sounds like they all (except maybe Hoppity) will be glad to get home. With all those toys, Harry should have plenty to do. And I was glad that Snape showed a hint of concern about Harry. It's small but a start.

Author's Response: I love that Harry can be spoiled a little bit with Hoppity's influence. :)

I'm not sure if its a good thing that Harry is starting to forget his memories. Wouldn't it be more painful when he does age back to have all those true memories come hurling back at one time trying to fit in with what has happened during the current summer?

Author's Response: I am counting on it. :) Although he won't have too much difficulty with the memories, it will be more a problem with nightmares. Nice insights. Thanks for you comments!

'She was hopping around like a school girl and gave him a grin when he looked at her. She was definitely related to Dumbledore.'
Oh cute! Wont Dumbledore be jealous he missed the toystore ^^

Author's Response: Haha, yes I'm sure he would be, but don't worry, I'm fairly certain that he visits toystores in his free time anyway. XD Thanks for your comments!

I felt so bad for Harry when he was waiting for Snape to come back and felt left behind! That is just the thing that Snape would do; what a git. I hope things get better between him and Harry as the story unfolds.

Author's Response: Yeah, poor Harry. Snape is just mean!

It sounds like a fairly successful shopping trip! I felt bad for Harry when he was remembering how the Dursleys would try to leave him, and how relieved he was when Snape came back for him. I wonder if Snape will notice those bruises? It might help to soften him up a bit.

I bet Harry had a great time picking out all those toys, and Snape having to explore the mall was quite funny.

Author's Response: Yes, Snape will discover those bruises, but it is the trust that he will have to work on over time. Thank you so much for your review! Sorry for taking so long to update! I hope that you can enjoy the new chapter!

Author's Response: Hehe, maybe you could! One-shot!

    Jan,
As much as I have enjoyed your wonderful humor, I must admit, I do love angst! Poor Harry, sitting alone and thinking he'd been left, I wanted to adopt him on the spot! I am wondering about the other bruises and if either Snape or Hoppity will see them.

Author's Response: Awwww, thanks. Poor Harry. Don't worry, Snape and Hoppity will find out soon enough! :)

Gah, this chapter reminded me of how I hate shopping for clothes! I hate it so much (shopping, not the fic)! Especially pants! lol, man I can't believe they didn't let him wear the shoes out of the store. (I know I said something about that on the other site, but eh)I used to do that as a kid! I don't do that anymore, but I remember thinking it was great to wear the new shoes home and have the old ones in the box. hehe good job!

Author's Response: I used to do that too! I loved it- the new shoes felt so great and you felt like you culd fly and jump without effort (at least if you were skinny or something haha). Yeah i don't do that anymore either because it seems so childish. XD

Hmm. Snape reminds me of my dad, only he (Snape) is never in a good mood. :-P But when my dad is in a bad mood, he gets into this mode where he just wants to make everyone else miserable (as miserable as he, presumably, is). So I can completely understand where poor Harry is coming from. It's a good thing he doesn't have a long time with Snape, as he's not going to create any *better* behavioral patterns with Snape than he did with the Dursleys. Just different, really. Okay, on to the next chapter now!

Author's Response: Well I think that Snape will mellow out a little bit so it won't really hurt Harry to spend any long time with him. He will have to get used to having such a strict person looking after him- in the long run if he stayed years with Snape as a child it might do something but as this will only be 2 months (less really) it won't hurt him. Plus he has Hoppity as a balencing influence, as well as all the other children's parents around.
