I’m so glad they’re all being seen professionally as a family. Thanks for your helpful use of therapy in this story.

A cupcake! Thanks!-- NOW I can visualize the whole scene with the fairy cake! And you're right: fairy cakes DO sound as if they're part of the wizarding world. I'll add the term to my ever-growing repertoire of British vocabulary!

A quickie question before I plunge back into your AWESOME story(!)- What exactly is a fairy cake? Is it strictly your own creation belonging to the Harry Potter universe, or would I recognize it by a different name, like a petit four, for example? I keep trying to visualize Draco eating the poisoned monstrosity, bite by horrifying bite, and I'm still floundering with what the fairy cake actually looks like. Since I'd never heard the name before, I thought it might be a confection of your own creation...? THANKS if you get a chance to reply!!! :-)

    Author's Response:

It's a British phrase for cupcake. I couldn't resist using it, as it sounds so very wizardly. I imagine that fairy cakes cooked in the Hogwarts kitchens are fantastic creations with, say, miniature castles molded out of icing atop each... those are the kind I was thinking of as I wrote this chapter.
