Question: How the hell did Fudge even FIND the house? Isn't #12 still under a fidelius?

    Author's Response:

Not with both Dumbledore and Sirius dead. I wasn't sure if I had written anything specific about it, but then I found it: "All of us are a bit at loose ends this summer. This house isn't under the Fidelius anymore, but with Hogwarts closed there aren't many places as secure." ~ Lupin

Fudge is so perfect in this. I hate him and yet want to see more of him! He's also creepy and scary. It makes sense Lupin and Snape are desperate to keep Harry hidden. Fudge has something ugly in mind for poor Harry. I also liked the newspaper stories. I'm still really interested in finding out what Hermione really said.

    (Yes, I'm rereading it.)

I'm not sure Harry would try to make Lupin feel guilty about moving on; this suggests (1)Harry knew about the relationship with Sirius, and (2) Approved of it, neither of which are terribly likely. And...I thought Snape was straight?

But the scene between Lupin and Harry is very good, and for once, Lupin shows some indication he understands adolescence--usually he and Snape appear to think that Harry should act like an adult, and they have both taught enough school to know how likely *that* is.

So finally they tell him the truth, which seems like a plan. The withholding of the letter, though, seems like pure spite, given its contents.

    Author's Response:

That's why it's AU. Snape can be straight in someone else's story. :-)

I was planning to put in a Harry-finds-out-about-Sirius/Lupin scene, but it didn't fit anywhere. So the premise is that he knew, or suspected. Which doesn't man anyone else knows or suspects. I might still do something with it, so it isn't left hanging, if it fits in anywhere. Possibly when others find out that Snape and Lupin are pursuing a relationship.

I just found this fic, and it's very, very good so far.

The headlines were hilarious! Werewolf... Whereabouts... LOL... Voldemort may be gone, but it appears that Rita Skeeter has taken over the world!

Well, I hope Lupin and Snape aren't both covering up something awful that's happened to the Weasleys. Something really bad must have happened to send them into hiding like that.

Poor Sirius is in hell? Because it's not angst if the person you got killed gets to frolic with angels. But I have the feeling he isn't on this fic's main characters list just because both Harry and Lupin are angsting over him.

    Author's Response:

The thing with the Weasleys is actually fairly straightforward. The Ministry was bothering them (to the point that their place was ransacked by Aurors, as Ron mentioned to Harry) due to their membership in the Order and loyalty to Dumbledore. They, like a lot of others right now, are Fudge's targets in his little campaign.

RE: Sirius. Well, Remus seems to think that, but it's hard to say if he's right, since he gave no evidence. It certainly would be unfair to leave Sirius in Hell if that's where he is. On the other hand, Remus is with Snape now, and Harry is SnapeSpawn, so perhaps Sirius would be happier just to be left alone, thank you very much. :-)

I really love that you are making an effort to keep Snape and Harry in character. I agree that it is annoying in stories when Snape loses his snark and Harry loses his spine.

If I could make one suggestion though; I think that Snape and Lupin have to acknowledge the fact that Harry's inability to trust/respect adults comes from the Dursleys. The Dursleys taught Harry that he could not depend on adults. It is a bit irksome having Harry accept that he is acting like a brat, without Snape and Lupin accepting that they are acting like asses lol.

Thanks for posting, you are a very talented writer!

Author's Response: Yes, they will definitely have to acknowledge that Harry's had a messed up life and that it's having a huge affect on him, but they're not quite there yet. Harry, being Harry, doesn't really give anyone much reason to think the Dursleys have done him lasting damage, and they were chosen by Dumbledore, which doesn't help matters, since people are reluctant to delieve that Dumbledore could be wrong. It'll all come out eventually though.

You have done an excellent job of postulating how thing could go given your change to events. I found the chapter to be exciting even though in certain ways it was a necessary info dump.

    Author's Response:

Yes, the info just had to go in somewhere, and it might as well be all at once. A lot of things have been accumulating that either are not very important to the plot but are loose ends that a reader might wonder about, or are important to the plot but not important in and of themselves.
