Interesting punishment! Dumbledore must have a good reason.

What the fuck?! Why the hell does Harry get the shit end?! He has to have most of his classes with Slytherins, doesn't get to see his friends as much, AND Malfoy drags him around?!
And ya fucking wonder why he can't think of any safe places!

I don't see why anyone would jump on you about the boys' punishment. It is one that most parents will employ with fighting children. (My siblings had to hug each other if we fought.) A wonderful idea. Good job.

Author's Response: Thank you for the great review! :)

I can't understand why someone would object to the punishment. I personally think its funny. There seems to be a whole world of scenarios to it. I like the story so far. Keep it up

Author's Response: I thought it was funny as well, I kind of wanted to laugh at poor Harry and Draco. But, different people have different reactions. If they don't like the story they can go write their own for heavens sake! Lol, thank you, :D

Sorry people are being mean or unpatient. I won't abandone the story.

Author's Response: Thank you for your loyalty, :)

Great chapter again, Scorpia! I'm sorry that some people are so unhappy with the punishment, to the point that it's upsetting you. (Hopefully, it's not anymore, since I am behind on reading this part, lol!)

I don't think it's too bad...I do think Draco should have been punished more severely than Harry (but that may be partly because I love Harry so much that I feel very protective of him, and Draco gets on my last nerve. And that's not at all a criticism of your writing, because you're portraying him perfectly.) I just see Draco as a major spoiled brat, but that's how he was in canon for me, too...yeah, it's understandable considering his background, but still a brat. In canon, there were times when I felt some sympathy for him, but I also felt that he never grew or changed or felt any real remorse for his actions. But in fanfics, he does have the potential to become a better person, and maybe he will here, too. But of course, it is your story and you have every right to write it the way you want to.

Your 'punishment' certainly is far from the worst thing Harry has been through, and I've definitely read fics where he's treated much, much worse, so this isn't too bad, and really it could even end up being a positive thing if it helps Draco to change and perhaps leads to a friendship. I could even see that being Dumbledore's motivation here.

All that being said, I absolutely agree with Foolish Wishmaker...an author has to be true to herself (or himself). If you aren't happy with what you write, it will show and it probably won't take long for you to get tired of writing. After all, this is supposed to be a fun and relaxing hobby for us (We're too old to play with the little action figure dolls now, aren't we? So we have to do something instead!) And if anyone gives you grief, just tell them (politely of course, *grin*) that they can always write their own story and have things happen the way they like!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to how Harry and Draco cope this bond, and I think it's an excellent story!

    Author's Response:

Man, It's only now that I realize how long it's taken me to respond. I'm sorry about that by the way. I assure you that being attached to Harry is bad for Draco. It really does something to his Malfoy pride. I do regret not taking points or something. I can not give him detention because Harry would have to tag along. Is it to late to change some things...I wonder. I sure hate going back and re-doing the story but some things do get mentioned a lot, and not in a good way so I may change them when the story is over.

I'm glad you like my Draco. I just thought of him as a mean, self centered git and tada! Lol, he will get better but this won't be a fioc whee he changes over night. It will take time and trouble before anything major changes. I think the short scene at the end of book 7 showed us that Malfoy had grown up. He may not of liked Harry but he nodded at him, in a show of...respect? Something, but it was better then nothing. Thank you for reviewing, hope by response did not bore you, lol.

This is such a GREAT story! I love your sense of humour. And what are people complaining about? It's a fantastic punishment! I like the wide myriad of characters you have included. Umbridge is very well written.

Author's Response: Thank you, I thought it was a good punishment as well. The bond has more to do with the story then just punishing Harry and Malfoy.

This is an interesting story, and the twist is frankly rather funny, but if you refer to Harry as the 'black-haired teen' just once more, I'll scream. Loudly. I'd also complain about you calling Draco 'the blond', but then nearly ever fanfic author does it, God knows why. I must say, slash never occurred to me, though.

    Author's Response:

Lol, please don't scream! I'll try to keep black-haired teen at a miniumum. Thank you for reviewing!

I'm sorry that you're feeling attacked by people who don't like where you're going with your story. That can be really disheartening. I think that people who are not writers don't understand why writers feel the need to write certain things into their stories. You can't make everyone happy. Sometimes you can't make *anyone* happy. Except yourself. That's why you write, isn't it? No one should write to please others above themselves, because that's the surest way to lose interest in a story and give up. Write what pleases you, and if it pleases someone else, well, consider that awesome. If not, at least YOU will still have a great story.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with your story or plot so far. You are NOT torturing Harry. This is a very tame fic of its type (Harry dealing with his destiny, etc.), in terms of angst and emotional torture. There is frustration, yes, but he is not being tormented by the tasks set to him. In fact, so far he is practically blithely sailing along. He isn't spending sleepless nights being tormented by horror shows of what will happen if he fails. And he hasn't given up; he still thinks it's possible to change the future... in fact he is determined to change it. I don't see how that's Harry-torture at all. Okay, so he's been set some hard tasks. Yes. Well, what about canon? Seemed pretty heavy stuff to me. Harry's always facing impossible odds, so that is nothing to whine about. Besides, how fun would a story be if his future self's only advice was "Eat more carrots. Harry, it'll help your eyesight. By the time you're my age you'll hardly need glasses at all."? His future self would hardly have come to warn him if the situation was not dire.

Anyhow, you have a fine plot and don't let people dictate what you write. The only criticism you should take to heart is spelling/grammar, because that is something you have control over. Whether readers like or agree with your chosen plot is not in your control. How often you update is also not in your control, since real life should be a higher priority. Don't worry about losing readers -- they have a right to dislike your story and leave. Just as many will like it and stay.

    Take care.

    Author's Response:

This review was very inspiring and uplifting Fw, thank you for taking the time to write it! I get really fed up with some people. I almost want to scream, "It's my story and I'll torture him all I want and there's nothing you can do about it!!" But that probably would not be receved really well, lol. It is supposed to be an angst fic, his future life is SO bad that he risks it all to come back and change it. That's not somthing small. I'm very happy that you seem to know where I'm coming from and that you don't think I'm a 'Harry torturer', lol. Thank you Fw, :)

    Scorpia
