Wow! Unexpected line at the end! The fireplace made me wonder about the possibility of Flooing out of the dungeons to somewhere beyond the castle itself, since the Floo system probably runs underground, except when arriving at the fireplace destinations. Just a thought, in case you were to write a sequel. Great descriptive atmosphere and action here!

Somber, devastating. The dash of hope at the end is just enough to break the gloom.

Hahaha I love your summary. "Proof that I have no sense of humor."

I keep trying to figure out what those beans were. I though they were coffee but one of the reviewers mentioned chocolate. That seems more likely?

You are very good at gloomy/hard times! fic, not just in this but in general. (I've read everything you have on this site except "In Safe Hands," which I'm about to read.) I commend you. :)

Wow. Nicely dark with a touch of humor at the end that made me burst out laughing.

I love it! Bloody brilliant. You do Snapey so well. This is my favorite line "And Potter obeyed for the first time in his miserable life." I just love it. It sums up Harry and Severus to a tee. Great one-shot. You have the greatest little bunnies.

Hahah!! this is.... well so dark and mysterious, but the ending was so unexpected! Why did he make a cake? I was thinking that maybe the dementors were around, and they needed chocolate, but I suppose that they just needed something comforting and warm, and eating cake did it.

Great use of words and descriptions. I liked how Snape said "Lily's eyes" instead of Harry's in, "Potter blinked; the first sign of life coming back into Lily's eyes. Not nearly enough."

    Good job!

    Author's Response:

The Dementors might be gone now, but effects will linger. Poor Harry had it the worst, as usual.

And he made a cake because the chat people made me do it. :-P

Your reviewer was right, you DO suck all the happiness out. ;) LOL, I was angsty but if I said I did not like angst I would be a BAD liar. So I loved this fic, it was great! The ending made me smile, "He made us a cake." LOL, That's right Sirius, mirachles DO happen. :D Any chance of a--er--happier sequel? Or a sequel where thery all die? LOl, eithier one will do, (snicker) I'd like to know HOW they got in this sitouation. I know the main idea but I'd like details, :) lol, demanding aren't I?
But this was really good! We will have to come up with more silly ideas at he chat so YOU can turn them into great stories. :D

    Author's Response:

A sequel for a CAKE fic? That would just be wrong on so many levels!

On the other hand, I do have a plot bunny stashed here somewhere that's labeled "Hogwarts is destroyed. Everyone dies." Hmm....
