Great first chapter! Poor Harry. That was a very interesting situation... having Snape there mixing potions and witnessing Harry's conversation with Madame Pomfrey. Well done.
This is a very god start, I like how you let Severus find out about Harry's home life without going to see the Dursleys or having been sent there by Albus, since that's been done to death already. And I'm curious to know why Harry's scar didn't hurt when he was by Severus.
Is this 4th or 5th year? How old is Harry?

Well, that was good. Can't wait to read more. his connection is rather original. The Dursley abuse isn't, but the absence of secrecy kinda is. I like Poppy knowing, somehow.
