Reviews For Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat
I liked how Snape acted! Thank you very much, for writing Author's Response: I think Harry's got 11 years of naughtiness to get out of his system, lol. Thanks for your review! Rhiannan
Author's Response: Thanks so much!! I, also, am anxious to see what happens. This is one of those stories that the characters have completely taken over. I have no idea what they're going to come up with. I just write it down. :-)
Author's Response: Thanks!! Yeah, I kinda feel bad for Sev, too. He's trying so hard, and Harry's just not buying it. We'll have to see which gives up first. :-)
It's very funny to see the war between Harry and Snape, but it's also a bit sad. While I would certainly wish Harry to win the "war" in making his life most miserable, it seems that he is doing it at least partly to prove that Snape as another big adult is not to be trusted. So far, Snape has been coping with it quite well - it might seem a bit harsh to give Harry a punishment like this and especially on his only second week in the school, but unfortunately he has to set an example. I'm only worrying that this will escalate - Harry taking revenge on Snape because of the detentions, Snape assigning more, Harry taking more revenge etc. And while I really shouldn't approve of Harry's actions, I just understand him. Harry shouldn't have lied to his friends, though. I mean, it's understandable as he doesn't trust easily and the abuse is the thing he really wants to hide, but still, it's not particularly nice to lie somebody like this and making them stand up for you by lying. They would have probably helped him just as well if he had told them the truth, but it's very unpleasant to know that you had been defending someone and he just lied to you... it makes you feel stupid and angry. I believe that Blaise would have also tried to explain that Snape was probably meaning well. Well, Harry was acting slytherin and probably doesn't really realized the difference because he thinks of Snape as mean and dangerous, but I'm affraid it will eventually come back to him in a bad way. And I'm afraid that when Harry makes something really bad, Snape's patience will break and it will end badly (the canon Snpe would have already choped Harry into several smelling potions at least ten times now). And I know he is trying to gain Harry's trust and not act in anger, but everybody has some breaking point. BTW, I'm not sure, but did Severus apollogize for the first hours when he though of Harry as a spoiled and arrogant brat and treated him as one? I know, Harry didn't behave perfect as well, but they have to start somwhere. And it's nice to see that evenwit hallthe detentions, Harry is (very, very slowly) starting to think of Snape as not an ultimate threat. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: Harry's pretty much decided that staying out of trouble is impossible, and he might as well do what he wants. What'll happen will depend entirely on what the characters decide to do. Hopefully Snape will figure out that assigning more detentions is not getting him anywhere, or Harry will decide that he's sick of detention. I, too wonder how long Snape's patience and understanding will last. We'll have to see. (Harry and Snape have remained mum on the topic, so far, even to me. :-) )And no, Snape has not yet apologized. It's not something he's good at, but I think he'll get there. Thanks so much for your long + detailed review!! I love hearing what people think about my story. :-) I also hope Harry's friends will be understanding. He's not entirely lying, after all, (he really is angry about the detentions); he's just not telling the whole truth.
And severus is being so patient. I am surprised how cool he was with the coloured hair. I think he is scretly impressed with HArry's scheming and his determination. He is also slowly gaining Harry's trust and chipping away at the things that do worry Harry. Love this story. Lesley~ Author's Response: Thanks so much! I've gotten a review from you for like every chapter so far. Makes me really happy :-) I'm glad you like it. Poor Sev. As he says, he's not usually a patient man.
I'm loving your story and can't wait to see what you have planned for us next. Poor Harry's in for the long haul, I guess. Author's Response: We'll see. Snape and Harry haven't informed me of their plans, yet. Thanks for the review!!
Author's Response: Yeah. Doesn't show signs of stopping, does it? I don't know - I'd have to ask Harry. I lost control of this story long since. :-)
Author's Response: Thank you!! I love long, detailed, reviews. :-) Yeah - Snape really needs to keep control of himself with Harry. So far, so good...
Author's Response: Yah Harry's a daring little blighter, isn't he? :-)
Author's Response: Yah, plus Sev needs a chance to prove that he won't hurt Harry, and Harry won't go near him voluntarily. Maybe Snape will soften later, who knows? The characters have thoroughly taken this over from me. lol :-) |
