I like most of the story. Severus and Harry's interaction is well thought out and written and you have shown Severus to be more than a one dementional character.

The are two things I don't like. One is Harry's apparent sudden attachment to Remus--this is a man who ignored him for ten years, and for most of his third year just acted as a teacher to him, not even acknowledging he knew his parents. Then ignored him fourth year (he received letters from Sirius not Remus) and saw him for one Christmas. This does not lend one to become a father/uncle figure or someone to be looked up to. In fact the opposite should be happening for Harry and he should harbor resentment for Remus.

The second thing is Remus' callus kiss off of Sirius. It has only been TWO MONTHS! since his mate died and already he is making moves on Severus. If Sirius was truly his mate and he loved him it would take him more time to get over the grief. I find this does nothing but reflect poorly on Remus character.

I liked the boys typical teenage behavior and didn't find Snape to OOC, he can't possibly be stoic and emotionally controlled 24/7 and given into fears of nightmares again lends a humanizing touch.

    Author's Response:

Well, I'm glad you like most of it! About your issues with Remus - there are reasons for both of those things. The characters in this story are sort of based off of the characters in another one of my stories posted on FF.net. In that story, Remus and Harry have spent a bit more time together. I know that's kind of AU, but I never said this story was supposed to be canon.

Harry's attachment to Remus comes from his attachment to Sirius. He spent just as much if not less time with Sirius than he did with Remus, yet he became even more attached to Sirius. Harry was looking for that fatherly affection wherever he could get it, and after Sirius' death, he transfered that attachment to Remus because they shared that connection - love for Sirius. Maybe it's not coming off quite right, but Harry really isn't that attached to Remus. This will all make more sense later on in the story.

Remus' write off of Sirius will also be explained later on in the story, so I don't want to give too much away right now. Remus is essentially on the rebound, as harsh as that sounds. I can't say much more than that, but it'll be explained later.

I'm glad you like the teen's behaviour, and I'm very happy to hear that you found my Severus' to be appropriately in character. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, and I hope you continue to read!

    -Julz

Draco is quite funny in this, and I actually feel sorry for him. I think that the dynamics between them all is going to be quite fun to read.

    I'm enjoying the story Julz.
