Wow. First day with Snape and Harry is already sneaking out. I wouldn't have thought that he would have the energy for that. Snape will not be pleased.

Author's Response: Yeah, if he gets caught...it will not be pretty.

Eek! That would certainly be a bit startling to find a pair of dark eyes staring in at you when you went to close the curtains!

I don't envision Harry's planned outing going all that well. In fact, I rather suspect he's liable to lose his cloak for a while.

    Author's Response:

LOL. I would have a heart attack if that happened to me!

Harry likes to live on the edge, doesn't he?

OMG! HAHA! The part where Severus regrets not having thought to blow up Petunia was BRILLIANT! Oh, I laughed so hard! And Snape's being so NICE! Well, as nice as he can be. ^-^

But Harry, you little idiot! Don't go out looking for trouble! It always FINDS you! Oh no, I can just picture it now; it's Sirius Harry keeps seeing, isn't it? Oh no! What will happen with Sirius and Snape? Oh!! I want to go on, but I really have to go to bed! Curse the tiredness that causes me to sleep! I'll read tomorrow!
    (I love cat too!^-^)

    Author's Response:

LO!! Yeah, Severus always hated Petunia. She gave him a very hard time when he was seeing Lily.

This is Harry we're talking about; the trouble magnet!! Ah, yes it's Sirius as anyone who has read POA! LOL!

Aw, you really need your sleep dear, but I hope that you're reading today!! =

I laughed when Snape thought that Harry blew up Petunia! Ooh! Like the line about Harry looking like a ghost from Snape's past. That made a nice, creepy, but very awesome mental image in my brain. Oh dear, there goes Harry thinking about the Invisibility Cloak...I have a feeling Snape will catch him. Hmm...I'm confused like Harry about that snake's cryptic words...Does that snake know something? Slippery little buggers, those snakes. Yeah, I agree with Harry about Snape's quarters having a rather Gryffindor theme going on there. Snape has a TV!? *snickers just a bit* That is precious! And he sees the "Grim's" eyes! Wow! Good tracking ability on that black dog...*glares* And there he goes with the cloak. He's either going to get caught before he gets out of Snape's quarters or once he gets back...Tempers will fly.

If I have reviewed before, so sorry. I'm trying to catch up with the reading of stories I like, since I have fallen behind in reviewing...So, if I am repeating anything...So sorry.

    Author's Response:

Yeah, that thought just popped into my mind. I'm sure that Snape would not have been too upset if Snape had blown up Petunia! Oh thanks.  I just thought that the similarities between Harry and Snape's childhoods was just too real for Snape to ignore, and he kept slipping back into the past.  Thank goodness that Snape doesn't know about the cloak!  If Harry's not careful though, he'll find out soon enough.  Hmm...maybe if Harry is sneaky enough and luck is on his side, he'll escape without Snape being the wiser. But then again...this is Snape we're talking about.  Yeah, Snape has a tv and some other Muggle artefacts  I don't know why, but I just thought after seeing HBP and Snape living in Spinner's End, which is in a Muggle neighbourhood, I bleieve, that Snape had a Muggle father, and I could see him owning some Muggle objects.

Yeah, that dog (Sirius) is tricky, isn't he!

Oh, I don't mind at all, even if you had reviewed twice. I'm honoured that you took the time to review at all! Thanks again. And I love your story by the way!

Chapter three and Harry's already off and making mischief. Yikes. I'm assuming that Snape will catch him, but I could be wrong.

Really, Snape has been quite nice and accommodating so far. I hope Harry starts to understand him better soon.

    -P.G.

    Author's Response:

Well, all is not as it seems!

Snape HAS been rather patient, at least as patient as Snape can be. Let's just hope that Harry can learn to trust Snape and allow him to protect him properly. It's hard for Harry to trust adults though. It might take time.,

I think he'll be caught and maybe spanked. Snape seems very stern and into corporal punishment. Harry is disobeying Snape and if he manages to get out and wander the castle he's putting himself in danger so I think he's toast.

Well practically every story I've read so far has him giving Harry a mountain of rules and a spanking at some point.
Like the pic of Harry with Snape and the novel of rules is seems so like Snape lol.

Look forward to reading more of your story.

    Author's Response:

Uh, there is no reference to CP in my warnings.  Snape won't be a marshmellow in this, but he'll hold himself back from any physical chastisement, because Harry was so abused at the hands of the Dursleys. Trust me, it won't be easy for someone like Snape to reign himself in. He might come close to throttling Harry though!

Yeah, I love the picture of the book of rules!!  Snowflakeprincessqueengirl, is very talented, isn't she?

    Thanks.

Harry, Harry, Harry...what are you doing? His legs turn to jelly when he sees the two eyes through the window and yet he is going out to see what the creature is. That's not bravery, that's idiocy! How did Sirius (Padfoot) know that Harry ended up at Hogwarts? Surely he didn't follow the Knight Bus to London and saw Harry with snape? Oh, wait...he is at Hogwarts waiting for term to start because he knows Wormtail will be there at the start of term. I just realised that.

Snape's quarters were a big surprise...I would not have thought Severus would go in for such delicate surniture. A love seat? I thought there was too much interference caused by the magic in the air for electronic equipment to work at Hogwarts. Hermione says it's in Hogwarts a history. Also being as there are hundreds of tonnes of stone and rock in the shape of a castle above the dungeons, I doubt there would be any reception. Must be magic. The quarters seem pretty extensive also for a bachelor.

I loved reading how Severus stood at the door watching Harry sleep. When are the revelations going to come to light I wonder?

    Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Yeah, his legs turned to jelly, but then his rash Gryffindor side threw caution to the wind.  Remember that Harry had planned to sneak out before he saw the eyes at the window, so he just threw aside his fear, chalking it all up to his imagination.  Well, it will come out later the reasons that Sirius showed up at Hogwarts at this point in time. In the book, he shows up at Hogwarts because he knows that Pettigrew is there already, but at this point in my story, Ron is still in Egypt, so Sirius has followed Harry to Hogwarts for other reasons. which will be clear later.

Not all of this furniture is Snape's as will be explained later. That is why it's not as masculine or dark as Harry would have expected for Snape.  Also, as far as Harry's room goes, it was decorated by Snape,  but while the wood is similar to that in the rest of the quarters, the furniture is more modest, and not as feminine as the other pieces, nor is Snape's bedroom furniture. The electronics are aided by magic, which again will be explained later.  Snape has a special place actually in his heart for Muggles because of Lily's parents, and although Tobias was a real bastard, Snape never really fully accepted the doctrine of Voldemort about Muggles being less than worthy.

Snape's quarters are not really all that large, but don't forget that Harry expected a cave--dark and dank, and bats flying around, so we are seeing the quarters from Harry's point of view, and  Harry's room was Snape's study before, where he had a desk and some of his research books, but he transformed it for Harry. Of course Dumbledore gave him a little push, but it was Snape's decision to allow Harry the room.

Yeah, Snape is having a real internal struggle, battling inner demons. On one hand, he still sees Harry as an extension of James and we all know how he holds grudges, but he just can't stir up the same feelings of resentment and hate that he had before. Not after seeing what Harry's life is really like. The parallels to Snape's own life is making him very uncomfortable. He just doesn't know how to deal with his feelings.

I know that it's a little drawn out in this story, but things will pick up after term starts.  If I I push the plot along too fast, the story won't make sense, so I'm sorry if it seems a little slow moving right now, but there are some shocking revelations to come. I just ask a little patience for the storyline to evolve properly.

Great chapter, of course snape will catch him, i think, snape knows all. So glad they are together, can't wait for next post.

    Author's Response:

Hmm, maybe Snape will catch him, maybe he won't!

I'm glad they are together too, even THEY aren't! LOL!

Thanks, I'll try to update soon.

    Wonderful job again, Pandora!

I love how Severus just can't stop seeing Lily in Harry. For so long he only let himself see James and it had a drastic effect on his thoughts and feelings towards the boy. But now that he has begun to see Lily, too, I hope that he will realize that Harry is also very much like his mother. He's already had to see that he was wrong about how Harry's 'family' treats him, so he's already got some cracks in the armor.

Now, I hardly did anything at all with the descriptions. You wrote it yourself and it's great. I can really imagine it in my mind. And I wouldn't worry about the telly thing. If they can have a wireless in the HP world, why not a telly too? And anyway, by its very nature, an AU story does not have to comply with canon.

I love Harry, here. He's vulnerable, yet also tough and determined and has great spirit. It's so sad when he is thinking of how he wishes he had a family of his own, like Ron. And he does like to live on the edge, doesn't he? Harry's much braver than I am, but then I guess that's why he's a Gryffindor.

I can't wait to see what you have planned for us next!

    Author's Response:

Aw, gee shucks! Thank you Kristeh, and it was fun writing that together. And yes you did help alot, and your description of Harry's reactions to Snape's quarters was hilarious.

I don't think that Severus WANTS to see Lily in Harry, but the proof is before him now, and Harry is his own person, not the person that Severus imagines Harry to be.  Seeing the child that he imagined to be a pampered, spoilt prince, turn out to be anything but, is making Severus reevaluate all his pre-conceived notions about Harry Potter. When he realises that Harry is also abused, then Severus can't help but see the paralells to his own childhood.  Yes, Severus armor is definitely cracking.  He'll try hard to fight it though.

Oh, I forgot about that wireless thing.  Anyway, if Dumbledore can apparate from Hogwarts in HBP, why can't Snape have a telly in my story?!  LOL!

Harry dreams of having a family, and is very envious of Ron's simple, but rich life.  He'd trade fame anyday, to have parents that love and cherish him.

Harry is just a little TOO brave for my liking, but if anyone can put a stop to his reckless behaviour, it's Snape!
