Reviews For Sparks Will Fly
Nicely writ. Author's Response: Thanks. Aw, Draco is not THAT bad is he? Well...
Author's Response: Hey Kyle!!! Congratulations! You're the 100th reviewer! You get a prize. A chocolate frog maybe? Yeah, I'm mixing both together.
I troughouly enjoyed this so far and am still nibbling on how to solve the mystery behind the box. I think I'm not any smarter than the Minister so far, hehe. I am excited about where you're heading. :) Author's Response: Oh thanks! I hope that i don't let you down.
The mystery of the box will be solved sort of soon!!! LOL
Thanks for reviewing.
Author's Response: Aw, thanks. Snape is still dealing with his ambiguous feelings, but he is getting there.
Author's Response: Thanks. I appreciate you saying that, because that is exactly what I'm striving for. :)
I see that you are sticking to the movie version of certain events rather than the book. The scene where the 3rd year Gryffindor boys are eating BB Every Flabour Beans and transforming is purely Warner Bros. The scen doesn't even happen in the book. Anyway, the scene was effective as I think it shows how quickly and easily poor Harry's carefree childhood is coming to a close. It also helped Harry relax a little (until he went to sleep) after his encounter with the Dementors. Interesting that Remus is keeping a close eye on Harry and Severus. I wonder how Remus and Sev will rub along in this fic. Draco and his Sumo wrestling sidekicks are as foul as usual. More so really. Goyle didn't just crack his knuckles here, he actually attacked HArry and probably cracked a couple of his ribs instead! And I know Sev has to remain in character, but come on... points taken (50 all up and Ron didn't even do anything) from Ron and Harry was well as detention for an injured Harry. The snakes only get detention! I suppose it is more than they would normally get, but still, it's hard not to scream in frustration. Percy is an even bigger prat than usual, not head boy, but as Harry once thought, the Supreme Ruler of the Universe! lol. Love the way DD handled Fudge. The idiot was blibbering even more than usual. I like Auror Rogers. BTW, you had Hermione taking Ancient Tomes instead of Ancient Runes. I imagine you are already aware of this, though. Glad you have gotten over your dry spell Dawn. What's your secret? I am about 1,ooo words into Finding Ginny, but I am too easily distracted by reading other fanfics. That's a sure-fire indication that inspiration (my own) is sadly lacking. *sigh* Lesley~ Author's Response: Hi Lesley!
Yeah, I couldn't resist that scene from the movie, because it was so much fun, and I wanted to portray Harry as having at least a little fun! The scene at the park at the beginning was also I think more from the movie too, but I consulted with the book for both the train and park incident, and some direct quotes were used, and or I changed the dialogue, so it wouldn't be just a carbon copy of Canon. I have been using a lot of the book though, since the beginning. That is why it took me so long to write this and it was a lot harder to write, because I would write a sentence, and then go back to the book, to make sure it followed Canon properly, or take a line out of the book, and then figure out how I could write it in my own words, or embellish it a bit.
Yeah, Snape was a little harsh still with Harry, but at least he's gave the Slytherins detention. The reason that Snape gave Ron detention, is because Ron was in the middle of the fight, so Snape just assumed that Harry AND Ron had started the fight. The taking of points was a little over the top, but Snape was extremely upset already, because the whole scene brought back memories of Lily.
I think also, that Snape is not realising it conciously, but he was so harsh with Harry because although Harry had a valid reason to be upset about Malfoy's comments, he put himself in danger, and broke school rules, by attacking another student. Don't forget, he's starting to care about Harry but can't admit it to himself, so he's trying to hide it by handing out detention, and taking points so no one will suspect, least of all Harry Potter. I think that it will be awhile before Snape will actuallly take points from his own House. He's just not there yet. Not sure if he ever will be. He will always show favour to his own House, even if it is just in public. Behind closed doors is another matter.
Oh thanks. That scene with Fudge and DD, was very fun to write.
Oops, I remember trying to strain my brain, by trying to remember what classes Hermione was taking. I'm going to go change it, as I want it to be as close to Canon as possible; at least little details like that. Thanks, I can always count on you to get the little details right.
I know what you mean Lesley. I started Uncertain Future, but I'm very sick, and I'm in the middle of reading Blood Magic again for the third time, when I SHOULD be writing my own story!
Ooh, I really can't wait to read any of your amazing stories. I hope that you can get past the lack of writer's block. I really hate when that happens. I just get a cup of coffee, sit at the computer screen, and give myself a stern talking-to. It doesn't always work, but it's worth a try! Good luck Lesley. I'm sure that you'll get over it soon, and it'll be fantastic like usual.
Author's Response: Thanks so much. It's a challenge to change Canon and interpret my own way, but it's also fun to do. The box...ah! Soon, very soon, I promise! :)
Author's Response: Thanks. LOL. Most people are curious about the box. I'm surprised that you want to know what happens in the infirmary, but you are smart because there will be another Snape and Harry moment that's important.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'll do my best to update as quickly as possible. :)
cant wait for another Author's Response: Oh thanks so much, I'll try to be quicker with the next update. |
