Reviews For Antonomasia
A Slytherin Author's Response: Thank you! Hope you continue to like it ^^x
Author's Response: Thanks! I wouldn’t leave this fic unfinished (not least because I’d like to live past my 21st ^^) but it’s all in my head, it’s finding the time to get it down and upload it... but I’m getting there *eyes the angry readers warily* - haha and don’t feel bad, no one’s eyebrow raising could be as impressive as Sev’s. Hopefully I can get to 16 legible chapters *fingers crossed and ready to go ^^* - Thanks so much!!!x
Love protective Severus and how he's seeing poor little Harry in a new light. Good things have to happen for those two. They simply must. I won't allow anything else. ;-) I hope you update again soon! Author's Response: Thank you!!! I hope I can continue to make sure you love this fic! – Hopefully poor little Harry will come to see our Sev in a new light too huh ^^, and Im a sucker for happy endings so don’t worry (you’ll never see a ‘and they all die, the end’ at the end of my fics ^^) – thanks so much, and sorry for making you wait!!
Author's Response: More is on the way! Sorry for the wait, forgive me?x
I love the interaction between the professors and Umbridge! So classic. Loved it! Author's Response: Oh, Im sorry!!! Reality sucks like that, but Ive been busy so hopefully even if my chapters aren’t fast, they’re legible? I’ll do my best *cross my heart* ^^ Thanks so much!!x
I liked the moment where Severus found Harry in the snow and thought he had died just as he was finally free. A nice moment of syncrinicity.I look forward to seeing what happens now and how Harry has been changed by the 'toad's' actions. Author's Response: Thanks! Hehe I should count how many ‘poor harry’s’ Ive accumulated for this fic ^^, I do put him through a lot...And thank you for the synchronicity comment – I tried but I wasn’t sure how well it worked so thanks!!! And as mean as I am to harry, Im clearly not very repentant... it’s not over... ^^x
Author's Response: Wow! Thank you!!! And what a good idea! Though Harry is a little... um... indisposed right now, I can promise that Umbridge will get hers at least... hope you continue to like this little fic ^^x
You truly to have a gift for writing angst, although there are moments when it seems to me that Snape's emotions regarding Harry were progressing a step too quickly. Unfortunately, I find it difficult to pinpoint where exactly I thought this, or what you could do to improve it, especially as where he is at the moment rings true. It was just a general feeling I got, when Harry was ill, and Snape seemed a bit more concerned than I would have expected. Or something. I don't know. I can understand the sudden surge of protectiveness in this chapter, though, probably because you delved into the idea that Snape probably views Harry's safety in a proprietary way (though different than Umbridge's). Besides which, Harry is a child who has been significantly injured, and that just tends to bring out the protector in adults. And even though I loathe her as a character, I must say that you have an excellent grasp on Umbridge. This may sound like a very strange compliment, but you convey her madness perfectly. Just subtle enough that it's clear how she's managed to function in society so far, but increasingly clear, so that it's not even questionable to me that she's blatantly confessing to using illegal dark artifacts on a student in front of the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress, which is clearly career suicide. Even if she was correct that the minister would protect her job and reputation, it would at the very least lose her access to Harry, which she clearly doesn't want. But she doesn't care. Because she NUTS. I did have to go back and reread the story, by the way, since it's been a while since you updated. I remembered the basic plot, and that it was particularly well written, but little else. I normally don't complain about update schedule, unless it seems as though a fic has been actually abandoned without being marked as such, but since it was something you yourself mentioned, I thought I would tell you. Sorry for writing a bit of an essay here, but I rarely review, except for stories that I find exceptional, and when I do, I like to have a bit of a conversation via review. :) Author's Response: Hehe, thank you so much!!! I love a good review-conversation, they’re always fun and you do tend to learn a lot about writing in general as well as different perspectives of your fic... and get insanely flattered ^^ - Thank you!!!I love Harry-whump of all kinds so it kinda figured that I would end up writing one but to get such a lovely review full of such wonderful comments, *throws parties for you and gives u cookies... so many cookies* thank you!! – and I’m sorry about that sick feeling in your tummy; I’ll have to write lots of fuzzy, cuddly moments to make up for it :D I know exactly what you mean about Snape’s opinion of Harry progressing too fast – I had an unbelievable amount of problems with that but for the life of me I just couldn’t seem to get the right feel when it came to Snape being an ass... I think I write to strongly when it comes to emotions, I cant seem to nail subtlety so he either came across as too antagonistic or too soft, in the end I think I just had to choose what was better... and too, this has all been his reactions to a Harry that’s unconscious or slightly out of his head, it’ll be a different matter when Sev’s dealing with the Harry he’s used to. (I hope the swiftness of his shift in perspective hasn’t ruined the fic for you though). And Im thrilled (probably more than is healthy ^^) that you think I wrote a good Umbridge!!! Thank you! I do find her enormously fun to write because there’s so much to explore with her character and it’s so interesting to try to think of what her response to something would be as it’s clearly different from most other characters. I’m glad you find her a bit mad... I don’t think a sane person could think quite like my Umbridge ^^ not to mention the fact that I found, especially in the movie, that that was exactly what she was – a complete nutbag. Thank you sooooo much, I’m so happy you’re enjoying it and I know my updating has been shocking for the past few months but I’ll keep trying to get my best work out as fast as possible... I do miss it when I take too long so I doubt I’d ever be able to abandon this even if I wanted to ^^Take care ^^ x |
