*Smiles* I'm in love. I think Sev's a great daddy here and now I'm off to read the future (right?) story. Just curious, why Hadrian? I think I might know, but I'd love clarification. Great job!

This was a wonderful bit of history. It was lovely seeing Sev being "Daddy".

Author's Response: Thanks! It was a nice break from the darker tone of the main story. Plus, it's so fun to write about a baby Harry thought I don't think I could ever write a full novel-length story with baby Harry. I'm actually looking forward to the memories left for Sev as I'll get to write a bit more of baby Harry.

So sweet and so true I think you know about picking battles and the exhaustion of being a parent! Thank you

Author's Response: Thanks, though I have to admit I'm neither a parent, not do I have any siblings. The closest thing I have to a kid is a puppy and a cat, and even then you're picking battles.

Interesting fear, especially because the light is bright green. It reminded me of the light of the Killing curse that hasn't happened yet.

It must be difficult for Snape to be a single father, Death Eater and Potion Mastery student all at the same time. At least he's got magic to help him out.

Great story! I wish that the ending was happy and Severus, Harry, Lily and James were simply all able to live on in peace. :-(

    Author's Response:

The light was reminiscent of the killing curse, and I wrote it that way on purpose. A bit of foreshadowing perhaps.

It is difficult for Severus to juggle everything as a single father, but I thought it made the story very realistic. Yes, magic helps a bit, but he's certainly not one to give Harry over to a house elf.

I wish the ending was happy, too, but at least Harry has Severus now. Thanks!

Oh, I really loved this, Ella! Little Hadrian-Harry is too cute for words, and Severus is a wonderful daddy. It's just so sad that it didn't work out and that Severus had to let him go. But at least they've found one another in AIE, right? Though nothing can really make up for those lost years.

I loved how Severus thought of Hadrian-Harry as his little prince...what a cute play on words there, and I loved how you portray him as a father. I do think that Severus has always had such a capacity to love and care for someone...it just curdled up in canon and made him so bitter. But it's lovely to have fanfics where this side of him can develop and grow and he is able to reach his potential.

Very sad to me that little Hadrian was afraid of the light...foreshadowing, perhaps?

Anyway, I loved it and I'm sorry I've gotten behind on AIE, but I'll catch up. It would be wonderful to see some more little side shots (though I suppose it might be difficult since Severus gave up his son at such a young age). But maybe you could even do some little AIE alternate universe stories, if you wanted and don't have your hands full with the main story, lol!

    Author's Response:

Thanks, Kristeh! You're right. Nothing can make up for those lost yet, but I'm sure Severus is going to try.

I think part of the reason Severus is so bitter in canon is that we always see him from Harry's POV, which is totally biased. lol. We never get to see him with the Slytherins alone for instance. I'm sure he was still bitter, but we missed out on more human moments for him throughout canon. Anyone that can hate that much and show such strong negative emotions surely has the capacity to love just as much since the emotions are the exact opposite in a way.

Yes, Hadrian being scared of the light was a bit of foreshadowing, but I also thought it would be different to have a child scared of light when they're normally scared of the dark.

Don't worry about getting caught up. I know how crazy life can be. I'm sure at some time there'll be more side shots and perhaps some alternative universe ones as I get the inspiration and have more time. I thought about trying to get one about Hadrian's First Christmas for Christmas, but I think I'll save that moment for AIE since Severus won't have Harry's First Birthday to remember.

OMGosh!! Ella, that was precious!! That was so adorable! Severus as the daddy and Harry as a slightly spoiled but cute baby just made my day! That was so cute I feel like squeeling. (But I shall save your eardrums) ;D But oh how cute! I really liked that. It was the perfect amount of fluff and I'm still smiling over it. But I thought it was funny that Harry's afraid of light. *snickers* Yep, he's daddy's little boy! lol No, Sev's a good guy. But that was just TOO cute! XD I need to stop now before I kill you with repetitive, idle statements of how much I adored this.

Oh! Hope you're okay after Black Friday and you didn't get mobbed or something. Have a cookie! ^_^

    Author's Response:

Are you responsible for the 40 degree, rainy weather we had today? lol. Weird thing is, is that some storm thing is moving in from the Gulf so like we're actually at 70 now at almost 11pm, when we were at like 48 all day.

Thanks for saving my ears. j/k ;) I was going for adorable so I'm glad you thought it was adorable. I tried to make it nice and fluffy, but a few darker subtle undertones made its way into the story if you look hard enough.

I survived Black Friday. Yay for me. lol. It was actually that horrible for once. Thanks!

Awww that was so sweet! Severus and Harry were adorable and I was smiling all doe-eyed but then the last line was so sad! I know that it's a true and a fact of life, but I want Hadrian (nearly typed Harry then) to stay with Sev forever too!

    Lovely fest entry!

Author's Response: Thanks! I tried making it all fluffy, but apparently I can't help but put sad undertones in if you read between the lines *sighs* lol.

Aww! You're brilliant you know. You know that right? Absolutely awesomely brilliant ^^

Wouldnt it be wonderful if Sev could get these memories back? Think of how happy he'd be knowing that his son had grown up if he could remember seeing him like this, all little and cute and fussy ^-^ - I could even imagine his face after getting back those memories and then seeing Harry with new eyes, now that would make a gorgeous drabble (or am I rather close to guessing an upcoming scene in AIE? ^^)

So gorgeous though, I love your little Harry ^^ (whoops, Hadrian... I always preferred that to Harold... that just makes me think of neighbours... sorry, tangent ^^) And Sev as overworked doting daddy is just so fluffy you wanna hug him ^^ (well, I do, but that's not anything new ^^)

Can we look forward to a series of little moments like this? Or glimpses in AIE? (sorry, I'm a fluff addict... can never get enough ^^)

And can I just say, I love the idea of Harry as Sev's little prince, great play on words and it brings to mind all sorts of wonderful fic ideas ^^

*sigh*. This so makes me realise how badly I'm in the midst of AIE withdrawal, I'm so looking forward to more of that... oh, and I sort of made a very little pic of the sandcastle bit like I said and I'll show you if I can manage to upload it (or anything at all) without my comp crashing again... and if I can bare to reveal my lacking talent for anything artistic TT - do you mind an anime-ish style?

Anyway, sorry to go on (and on and on and on ^^) - I'm still high on squeeing on the utterly spoilt little prince and your gorgeous Sev... and did I mention how wonderful I think your idea for a sevitus is? Lily as a doting aunt is the best idea ever for one I think I've read - a one night stand just seems so overdone and a little uncaring, like no one ever wanted Harry at all, the idea that Sev wanted him from before he was conceived is just beautiful ^^.

I'm getting kicked off the internet now so I'll shut up (yay! ^^) - so incredibly gorgeous though, I'll definitely be rereading this ^-^
have fun and stay safe 'kay? ^^ hope life's being kind ^-^

    Author's Response:

I'm brilliant? *smiles* Seriously, that makes me feel so good as I prepare my stuff for grad applications. I'm in minor freak out mode at the moment wondering if I'll get in, where I should apply for my best chances, what part of my novel should I submit as a writing sample, upcoming GRE test, etc. Can you tell I'm stressed? lol.

I think you're close to guessing an upcoming scene in AIE although I don't think the way I'm thinking of it is how it's playing out in your mind. lol.

Neighbors? I know that show. Well, I know of it and know that Jesse Spencer from House was on it. lol. I don't like the name Harold. It seems so old for a kid or teenager, you know?

I'm sure we'll have some glimpses like this in AIE and maybe some more side stories. I thought it would be cool to have one for Hadrian's first Christmas, but I'm torn between putting in the main story or using it as a side story since he doesn't have Hadrian's first birthday to remember.

Yay, you liked my play on words. It was just one of those things I couldn't not do.

You made a pic? I can't wait to see it. I don't mind a semi-anime style at all. Considering my drawing skills are limited to stick figures, lol, I'm not picky at all. I hope to start working on the next chapter soon. I have two weeks until my first grad app deadlines are, so we'll see how it goes. *sighs* I'm currently waiting for e-mail back from one of my professors for some advice.

I'm so glad you like my sevitus idea. You're right about the one night stand thing. I wanted Harry to be wanted from the beginning so after lots of brainstorming I finally came up with the idea that I did. Thanks so much!

How amazingly sweet. I'm loving your Sev more and more.

Looking forward to your next update. Thank you for the Thanksgiving "present" in this little story.

    V.

    Author's Response:

I'm happy to hear you're loving my Sev more and more. He's really starting to grow on me as in really knowing how he thinks though he still likes to surprise me when I write. He doesn't listen to my instructions very well. lol. ;)

I hope to get the next chapter written sometime this week, but we're crazy busy at work and my grad apps are really starting to freak me out. I need to send in a creative writing sample, and I'm torn between just sending the first 30 pages of my original novel or selecting scenes from it. Either way I need to do some major revising until I'm completely happy with it.

Thanks and Happy belated Turkey Day!

Aw that was so sweet. Little Harry sounds so adorable. I could just picture little Harry manipulating Severus; wrapping him around his little finger!!

Very sweet story, and it fits perfectly in with your story, which I'm dying for, by the way!

    Author's Response:

Thanks! Little Harry totally had Severus wrapped around his little finger. I can totally attest that most only children do from experience. lol.

I'm happy to hear it fits in perfectly with the main story. That's good news for when Sev decides to view those stored memories.

I haven't even started the next chapter yet. :( I've been so busy with work and freaking out over grad school apps that I just haven't really had time and when I did have a little bit of time it's like I don't want to do anything but turn off my brain. Well, my brain doesn't mind a bit of reading. I've been meaning to reread the early chapters of "Sparks Will Fly" and then read the chapters I haven't as somewhere along the line I got it confused with another story and the two storylines like twisted and mushed together that to fully enjoy it, I need to reread it.
