This had so much emotional depth. I really like how mature James is, and how he’s encouraging Harry. Thanks for your great one-shot - I’m hoping there’s a follow on!

Awww I really wanted to see more. This was awesome as is; I'm glad to see this mature, adult james potter especially since it basically puts a great big "fuck you" to canon snape who took out a grudge on a an 11 year old child for no reason. Lily sucks, and Snape sucks, and I can only imagine how much of a bsatard snape is going to be at least at the beginning of this little arrangement. Glad that James at least keeps half custody though, it's not only biology that decides who family is. He's been there every moment of Harry's life and he loves him enough that he's putting any old resentment aside to encourage harry to get to know his biological father. I say good on James

Wonderful characterisation. So often James is the villain glad he took the moral ground here
I just found this story and I loved it! James really is a great father by not letting his bitterness affect Harry.
I would love to read Severus's reaction and thoughts on the situation as well as the first weekend with him but the story is perfect the way it is.
Oh this is really sad but I like the way James reacts to the fact that Harry isn't his son by blood - family is so much more that just blood and relation...
Is there a sequel of how Severus treats Harry and if he only wanted custody of his son because he wanted to hurt is old school enemy and tormentor?
