Reviews For Lily's Quilt
Author's Response: So glad you liked this particular story! In a very real sense, "Lily's Quilt" was my "breakthrough" story. Up until this one, I'd always feared taking the time to write descriptive narrative, afraid I'd get so bogged down that I wouldn't be able to stay motivated enough to actually finish writing the action/story. (I would normally focus on writing the action, fleshing out the narrative during my revising process.) But this story was sheer joy to write, from beginning to end, and it remains one of my personal favorites! Many thanks for reading and reviewing! 😊
Author's Response: Oh, yes!!! I LOVE "offing" Umbridge whenever I get the chance! And I really loved writing this story -- I consider "Lily's Quilt" to be my "breakthrough" story, where I'd finally gained sufficient confidence and experience as a new writer to be able to take my time to write highly-detailed narrative without the fear of the action getting bogged down. Prior to this, I was always afraid of never getting a story finished (thinking of various stories that I actually HADN'T completed before getting into fanfiction). But this time, I knew I could do it, and so I did! "This was a perfect story, indeed." -- the highest praise, music to my ears, and the greatest compliment I could ever receive. I feel so humbled.Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!! 😊
Author's Response: Hee! I won't object to a second "perfect"! Many thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Thank you so much!
Your humor... Is a little different from what I'm used to reading. But it makes it that much more fun! Thanks for another unique story! (~.^) Author's Response: I loved it when you said "unique", coz that's what I aim for, and it's honestly difficult sometimes to come up with some angle that hasn't already been written several dozen times. And yeah, my slant on humor is not quite predictable, but as long as my readers get a bit of a laugh (or a genuine guffaw!), I'm happy! Many thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: You're very welcome! You can see I already had a love for quilts before I ever started sewing my real-life quilt in August 2014! This story remains one of my personal favorites. 😊 Thank you so much for the review!
Author's Response: Sorry! Not planning one! But thank you very much for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Well, Snape is Snape, after all, and "should have" doesn't seem to be part of his vocabulary! As for Dolores... I have a sneaking suspicion that Snape might just intervene if she tried; he didn't want the pink witch putting her hands on Lily's quilt, either, and to foil her revenge would actually be a neat way for him to demonstrate remorse toward Harry without actually openly apologizing to the Gryffindor. In addition, Professor Flitwick could be prevailed upon to testify on Harry's behalf, since the Charm was really Lily's. Thanks for the interesting thoughts and your review!
Author's Response: Thank you very much indeed! (I just love to hear Dan say that when he receives applause on TV!) Oh, YES! I absolutely LOVED putting Dolores in her proper place! *snickers!* Extremely satisfying to write! I'm so very glad you liked it, and that you'd review it! It's wonderful to get reviews more than a year after a story was posted! Wonderful surprise, so thank YOU again! :-)
I can so imagine Lily making a quilt for Harry. It seems a very "Lily" thing to do. And I especially love the end:) Author's Response: I saw where you nominated this story for Featured status, and many thanks for your nomination, even tho' you had to revise it in the end! I truly enjoyed writing Lily's Quilt, letting my imagination run wild. I always try for something original in my stories, and I'd never seen animated embroidery before, so I thought, why not? Hey, it's MAGIC! And YES-- I LOVED BRINGING UMBRIDGE DOWN! Down below Flitwick's level, at that--hahahahaha! As for the ending, I can HEAR Alan Rickman! "Happy Halloween, Potter." Honestly, his voice dictates how I write Snape! So glad you've enjoyed this multiple times! Thanks for the terrific review! |
