Reviews For The Hardest Hue to Hold
Such a shame this was never continued.
I too was so anguished for Harry in the fifth book (one of my favorite books, but also the hardest to read)… he was really harassed and I used to think that leaving everything behind would have been his best option. So finding this story was incredible! Beside your amazingly descriptive style (almost like a poem), the way you painted people reactions to his departure felt genuine and heart-aching (oh poor Hermione) I really hope you would continue this I’m looking forward to see how harry struggles with no shelter or sustenance … well he be able to find a place to belong? How well Severus deal with him once he finds him? Really can’t wait for more Please consider updating this please!!! I would be certainly thrilled to read more!

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I'm actually a pretty big fan of semicolons. A couple of years ago, for my birthday, my friend made up a shirt with one jumping out of an explosion like some hero in an action flick, underneath it says: Semicolon! Avenger of Grammar! With this story, I made a decision to not use as many as I usually do because I wanted the writing to feel just a bit awkward and stilted; I wanted the reader to feel uneasy. It was a stylistic decision on my part and I do stand by it. I know that it may not come across to some readers (I'd be one BAD New Critic is I expected everyone to read my stories the same way I do!). I also know that fanfiction isn't literature and in a Literary Criticism class someone may be like, "OH! Not a mistake! Totally on purpose, dude!" But in fic it's hard to see things as such. I do appreciate your thoughts, though; good to see another semicolon lover!
As for being condescending, I really don't see myself that way. I suppose some may think I am (just as some may not, it's really just based on a single person's view.), but believe me, it's not intentional. I just know that there are some people who may not be as nuts as I am over Literary Criticism, so I just attempt to explain what I can. It's more of a 'covering my ass' sort of thing rather than a 'I'm better than you' sort of thing.
Again though, truly, thank you for a thought out review, and though this is anonymous, I hope you do see this and at least understand my reasoning behind my decisions. :)
Author's Response: HAHAHAHA!! Thank you for allowing me to eat, Prin! And thank you for reading and reviewing!!
