I wondered how Snape came to adopt Harry. At least it is better than being adopted by Umbridge.
Too bad Harry didn't just 'fess up and tell Snape why he ran away. If Snape was treating him better, he probably would have believed Harry.
Snape must be getting some idea of Harry's rotten home life by now. He's too quick on the uptake to be fooled by Harry's lies. One comment - early in the story, you wrote "his curiosity was peaked." The word you want there is piqued.
What a neat story! We all know that Snape has a soft center under that hard exterior shell. I love the idea of the fake wands that spot confetti and toys. Sev must have really softened up if he is Grandpa Sev.
This chapter is really good! I like the idea of grown up Harry grappling with this now that he has children of his own. Its realistic :)
