Your opening chapter is full of intrigue and already feels creepy! The concept of the carnival itself reminds me of one of my fave films, "Something Wicked This Way Comes". It'll be interesting to see how your story develops, and what becomes of the relationship between Snape and Harry in this unusual situation. I think it's very telling that Snape himself got sucked into the carnival, rather than merely dragging Harry away by the scruff of his neck. We'll see...
Uh oh...what have the gotten themselves into? Great chapter, I'm hooked!

You're right. It is a very different story. I feel like Severus and Harry do and am looking forward to finding out what happens next in this ominous carnival. Our heroes are prime candidates for this temptation with no family ties and overwhelming responsibilities. Who wouldn't want to run away for a while? Kudos for coming up with such and unusual story idea!
Curiouser and curiouser.
Looking forward to more

This reminds me of how a Stephen King story might begin... I like it :)!
Let's hope Pennywise the clown does not make an appearance, though...
It seems interesting. A different take.
Why do I have a feeling this carnival is not at all as good or benign as it seems and that Severus and Harry are going to have to make a break for it for one reason or another? Interesting. Looking forward to more.

Wow. Intriguing story. I'm anxious to see that happens at this carnival. The House of Mirrors sounds scary.
Great beginning WC. Can't wait for more.
