Reviews For Prisoners
Author's Response: Haha, yes it was Pandora. It was a wonderful birthday. Thanks for the kind wishes!
Author's Response: Why, thank you! It is good to hear you enjoyed the "Daddy" line. Ah yes, I rather love your comment on dear Great Aunt Isobel. I am a little bit shocked at just how abrasive she turned out to be - in fact, at times, it felt like she was simply thrusting herself onto the page, if you will believe it! Thank you so much for the well wishes and the review! ;)
I don't know if you intended it this way, but the play fight between Snape and Harry left me with such a bittersweet feeling, thinking that in the real story they only had a real battle. How tragic! Keep up the great work! When will Harry return to his age, and will Severus go back to teaching? Author's Response: Hello Nelia! Great to hear you are enjoying it. I am especially relieved to hear that you thought Severus' inability to ask Hermione seemed believable. Oh how I wrote and rewrote that part! As for the battle ... You know, one of the best parts about writing is when someone finds deeper meaning in something you hadn't intended to mean anything more, but you have done just that! No, I will admit that I did not consider that aspect. I considered it rather bittersweet for the fact that both Severus and Harry still have a part of them that will always remain children, starved for love and thirsting for the things they missed along the way. Like Harry, Severus had a difficult time growing up. He never really did have someone to play with him until Lily came along, and by they they were too old for such childish pursuits of dress-up, in their opinions, I imagine. Thank you so much for sharing your take on it, for I can never see through anyone else's eyes but my own when I reread and edit my writing, but through reviews like yours, in a way, I can! Hmm ... as for when Harry is to return to his age? The story is coming to a close in time, and has probably only around five or six chapters left. And will Severus go back to teaching? His future, at the moment, seems to be a mystery, hmm? That's a gentle way of me saying I'm not telling! ;) Cheers!
I loved this chapter, because it shows the progression of Harry and Snape's relationship. I can't wait to see more. I look forward so much to Thursdays! One of my all-time favourite stories. Author's Response: It is wonderful to hear you are enjoying it so much Pandora, and that it is one of your favourites. I must admit that among the stories I have written, I think this story is definitely up there for me too when it comes to the amount of fun I have had. Thank you so much for reviewing! And I look forward to Thursdays very much too! ;)
I also love the way your have gently melded Harry's being both a child and a teenager together. Though this concept has been attempted by many, you make it subtle and honest rather than overdone. In light of all of what I have rambled about, you mentioned that though you hadn't planned it, Harry's calling Severus "Daddy" just came out. Which is probably why it worked so well. Your characters are so well-developed, that they really take the story places :) Keep it up! Author's Response: Thank you so very much for the kind words tess4aria! I am so pleased to hear that you feel Harry's reaction to being de-aged, what with him being caught between a child and a teenager, was honest and gentle. And I am glad you enjoyed Harry's little slip. I have spent a great deal of time ruminating on how I was going to portray the characters in this fic, so I am very happy to hear that you feel it has been well done. Thank you for reviewing!
LOL the whole attic scene had my laugh to the point of tears. FOR COOKIES!!!!!!!!! Wow, I don't like the Great Aunt. Sure Harry was being a little brat but no one has right to hit a child especially one that has no family relation to you. You hit a strangers child just because you could. I know she regrets it but if Harry wasn't abused she wouldn't have. I hate that type of person. Author's Response: I am glad that the attic scene tickled your funny bone! Yeah, I didn't entirely mean for Great Aunt Isobel to be liked. I was actually appalled at how evil she turned out to be. She kind of wrote herself, at some points. Thanks for reviewing!
Amazing story - love it love it love it! Author's Response: Well, better hope for the adoption thing. No chance at all that Hermione and Snape would end up together romantically. Too much of an age gap, and he was once her teacher, so not my cup of tea. Yes, poor Severus though. Thank you for your review, and I am glad you liked it!
Author's Response: It would be a pleasant way of life for them, wouldn't it be? I am glad that you liked Harry's slip! Thank you for reviewing!
This chapter. Well, should I just send the doctors bill to your home address? Cause you can predict what it did to my heart. Reading this fic is more damaging than any heart disease (But in a ooohh so satisfying wayyy) So many great scenes like the play fighting, the catch reprisal, THE CUPBOARD SCENE. Interspersed with more serious and heart wrenching scenes that just fit in perfectly. I loved how you had Hermonie connect apparition with the feeling of everything changing. It was really well written and loved the thought behind it. Oh lords, Seeevvvvvvv theres some angst *sound of my heart shattering* But shee wants to stay toooo (really, my inner monologue is just gaga talk) UH HUH OH GODS, was not expecting the daddy line (like were as per your notes) But I wuved it. I think at this point Harry is making that subconscious connection and the 4 yr old brain works wonders at having it slip out! Guh at the warm feeling it gave Snape, I was feeling that too (which was very pleasant cause I'm in a really cold place atm buuurrr) Oh yissss...could not resist doing the cupboard scene so check it out on my prestigious blog- cleaningmybrain (dot) tumblr. Loved the chapter and cant wait for the next one as always :D Author's Response: Thanks Silver_Snake for the great feedback! Lol, sorry your heart is toast after that ... how about I owl you a potion to fix it? I am glad that you liked all the fluff and angst, and the fuzzy cupboard scene. Which brings me to say that I completely melted when I saw the drawing you did of Sev and Harry. Oh my goodness, it is sooo cute. Harry just looks so content! Thanks for reviewing and sharing some more lovely art! Cheers.
Author's Response: Great to hear you enjoyed it! Yes, I quite agree on the Hermione part. Harry wouldn't take that well! Thanks for reviewing. ;)
