Ok just to say I'm not impressed with the risk management and crises management plans at Hogwarts! If they were inspected they would definitely be "unsatisfactory".
Actually it is a great story thank you so much!
I'm beginning to wonder just how the Gryffindors are going to get out. Please update again soon, so I'm not in suspense too long!

I don't think the Gryffindors are realizing the scope of the tragedy yet, in their numbed and pained states.
I hope Sir Nickolas lets Dumbledore know who has survived and can be rescued through the window.
What to do about Neville and Harry, though, I anxiously await your next chapter!
Yikes ... maybe Snape can send one of the least hurt kids off for help on his broom, and get them to bring Madam Pomfrey to them? Sure seems like a sad situation, what with all the Gryffindors not making it.
crap is there any good news I mean come on. At least now the have some what of a update on the Gryffindor status all what 6 5th years 1 4th year and a couple 3rd years wow. This is one heck of a year at hogwarts

Great job of showing the total chaos that something this would cause. I hope someone soon takes charge and starts to organise the rescuers though; clearly Dumbledore and the ministry are not up to the task.
well dang at least help has shown up but they are all running around like chicken with their heads chopped off. They need someone to stop what they are doing and make an organized plan. So they know where ever rescuer is going so they will know where to look if they don't return with news or students within a timely fashion.
Bit of a break from the action, eh? Well I'm glad they got the Hufflepuffs out. Kinda doubt Dumbledore would take so long to come to the ghost idea though. But I guess he's human, and it all has been a big shock. I Sure hope the rest of gryffindor tower's occupants are alright. I've been wondering about that.
