Reviews For The Summer We Went Mental
Author's Response: Yeah, they're having a rought time ... I feel a little evil over it haha ... Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Angsty indeed. Thanks for reviewing.
I'm not surprised that both Lupin and Dumbledore have good intentions towards Severus that they never carry through on: Remus, to thank him for the Wolfsbane; Albus, to lighten his workload. I'm always in awe that Severus handled so many things all at once. Author's Response: Yeah, it is a wonder Severus was able to hold up under the strain of all his duties in the books. I can't imagine - and the pressure too! No support later on either, with the world convinced that he murdered Albus in cold blood. Thanks for the review. Always a pleasure to hear your thoughts! Cheers.
Author's Response: Hey rosina! Kudos for giving it a shot! It definitely *is* a depressing premise. But it has its happy moments. Darkness cannot exist without contrast! Thanks for the review, and I hope that it remains interesting for you!
Author's Response: Thanks for giving it a shot Fmh!
Author's Response: Howdy bridgeportfox! Oh, so you definitely have knowledge of the field of mental health. Yeah, I know this story isn't happy, and maybe it is a little too gritty. I just didn't want to dress it up to much. People have these thoughs - I've known a lot of friends who have gone through basically what Harry and Snape are going through (they are the basis for their symptoms). I've been around suicidal people ... had a close friend try to kill himself. Known someone who succeeded. So it isn't pretty - but I hope it is at least a glimpse of the difficulties faced when suicidal/ self-harming thoughts and behaviours occur. Thanks for reviewing this story! If it isn't your cup of tea, no problem. I didn't write this one for popularity! I know it isn't for everyone - in fact, I would be shocked if it got a lot of reviews. I just needed to post it for myself. It does get a little lighter though in places, so maybe it will pick up for you. Anyway, cheers!
I really love the idea of putting Harry and Severus together in the hospital. I always dislike stories where only Harry is the one suffering ... xD I love Severus being totally down as well. (I'm so aweful!) And to leave us with such a cliffhanger? That's just mean :P Can't wait for the next chapter! Author's Response: *blushes* Glad to hear you're pleased I've got another story going, Kyoko! And I totally agree with you on the stories where nobody but Harry goes through difficulties. I cannot imagine Snape would be too stable mentally considering his childhood, and death eater experiences. Haha, yeah ... I'm enjoying writing this even though it's a horrid situation for Severus (he's my favourite to write). So if you're awful, so am I! Great to hear you are enjoying it. The next chapter is definitely something I look forward to as well!
Author's Response: Lol ... mad about mental health. Very punny! I'm pretty mad about mental health too - you know, family members in healthcare and all. I love soul searching stories, so it's great to hear you share that interest! Thanks so much for the enthusiastic review, Annora! And yeah, feeling without purpose can lead down some pretty dangerous paths *shivers*. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on subsequent chapters. Cheers! |
