WOW. How could they not realize what is going on from what Malfoy is saying and that poor boy listening to how his mother died? I hope someone hears Harry out! Great chapter. I love your Snape and I love your Harry - so in character!

Group sessions for students that need help? I wonder what barrel they scraped Healer Schufflert off the bottom of? I've worked with a psychotherapist who specializes in PTSD for the last few years. I do intakes of new patients - when they call on the phone for an appointment, I find out what is going on and why they need an appointment. That should be a one-on-one thing. If there are too many students, she would have been better having each one talk with their Head of House and find out which needs the help most and start with them individually. Especially in this situation where families were on both sides. Some of the things mentioned may not be appropriate for everyone to hear.

    Author's Response:

Healer Schufflert’s set up with the group sessions is indeed deplorable and you’re not the only one who reacted to this. I’m trying to show that sometimes, in response to a traumatic event, people (including responsible adults) don’t think clearly and - despite having good intentions - go about things in the wrong way. Also, Healer Schufflert might just be one of those slightly megalomaniac therapists that unfortunately exist, also in the magical world… (among extremely considerate and professional ones, of course). She’s probably honoured by the task and eager, perhaps, to prove herself, to a point where she loses sight of the pupils best interests…

Obviously David is affected by Charity's death in some way as he must be a close relative! Healer has really made a blunder here! Brilliant chapter, loved Ginny having a go!

Author's Response: Thank you :-) And here's a new chapter for you.

Mind soothing? Rather seems like they are out of their minds! Forcing people to talk like this is unethical, unprofessional and could easily make matters worse. To make them do it in front of other people, enemys even and to teachers, who are not bound by medical confidentiality is what I would call criminal. Something is very wrong with this socalled healer. Interesting question is did you set it up like this intentionally or not?

    Author's Response:

Thank you for reviewing! It is indeed an intentional set-up from my side. My feelings about this kind of group session will probably be more obvious to you in the next chapter (through Harry). My point is to show that sometimes, in response to a traumatic event, people (including responsible adults) don’t think clearly and - despite having good intentions - disregard the side-effects of their means to get to their goal, thus doing more damage than good.

I can well imagine that in the wake of the war, and in response to first the attack on Hogwarts and then the suicide, worried parents, the school board and the Ministry exact of the headmaster that something is done. Their worry is understandable, their demand is reasonable. But when it is not accompanied by the necessary means (only one healer, no Swallowscope), they miss the mark.

In this situation, Healer Schufflert should have protested (or Snape, but maybe he did?). She probably doesn’t realise that her task is impossible. She’s young, can’t be very experienced, in fact, and - I agree with you - her arrangement for those group sessions is abysmal.

Healer Schufflert might just be one of those slightly megalomaniac therapists that unfortunately exist, also in the magical world (among extremely considerate and professional ones, of course). She’s probably honoured by the task and eager, perhaps, to prove herself, to a point where she loses sight of the pupils best interests…

Good for Harry! He's always going to be a protector is he? :-) I was wondering if that particular memory of Malfoy's would surface with her relative in the group. Powerful stuff. Reconciliation is not easy to say the least. I don't know if I would have it in me to reject the anger and bitterness when sitting across from the person that tortured my parent/relative and recognize they were traumatized by the event as well. Kudos again for tacking these post-war issues. So very engaging and interesting.

I'm getting weird, suspicious vibes off the Healer. Should I, or am I just too suspicious myself? Why on earth would she insist on putting Harry and Malfoy in the same group, totally disregarding Snape's suggestion? It's like she was hoping for a confrontation....???

The last line I could feel Harry's frustration at yet again, being judged by Snape's jumping to conclusions and being assigned in the wrong. I can't wait for more!!!

    Author's Response:

Hello again! Thanks for reviewing. Harry is, of course, forever the protecting Gryffindor :-)

As for Healer Schufflert, she might just be one of those slightly megalomaniac therapists that unfortunately exist, also in the magical world (among extremely considerate and professional ones, of course). She’s probably honoured by the task and eager, perhaps, to prove herself, to a point where she loses sight of the pupils best interests…

And Snape is still prejudiced against Harry… I’m happy to give Harry an occasion to prove him wrong and speak his mind - coming in the next chapter.

Looking forward to next week! My suspicion is that it was for david. I noticed Harry said something only after he saw David having a reaction.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! You're quite right, it's about David :-)

I hate waiting week to week because it's so good!

Author's Response: :-) It will pass quickly, with Easter coming up and all. I wish you a Happy Easter!

Loved the group session. Looking forward to reading Snape's response when Harry tells him what Draco was saying in front of David.

Author's Response: Thank you! I see that you have spotted the problem. I'll do my best not to disappoint you in the next chapter.
