    Poor Snape is falling apart!

Note: Legilimency is the name of the discipline, not the verb. You can no more “legilimency” someone than you can “art” them. In practicing art, you might draw or paint someone. Snape, a Legilimens (the word for a practitioner of Legilimency), used legilimency on Harry.

Severus in cannon was very explosive especially where Harry was concerned. I'm thinking here of PoA at the end in classes. I don't think your writing is overboard! Thank you so much for the two chapters

    Author's Response: Thanks :-)

This was a fantastic chapter! I loved the confrontation. I hate that I love watching Snape finally crack, just a bit. We finally get a glimpse into his true thoughts instead of interpreting his actions and how he's dealing with all these issues. What his fears are. Just fantastic! It actually gave me a bit of hope for some weird reason.

I also loved seeing Harry's reaction (the knives into the door where Snape had just been) and a crack in his facade as well. This is one time where Harry has more experience and knowledge that Snape LOL

    Author's Response: Thanks!

I adored the Harry&Snape. Snape reaching his breaking point precisely because Harry is taking this so calmly is very interesting-- not quite a role reversal, since they've never been calm together, but an interesting comment on their particular stresses. I was watching my niece this past weekend and thinking about how injustice is the worst thing for kids; they absolutely can't bear unfairness, and Harry was like that in the books, of course. But as he grows up he reacts less to unfairness-- for instance Snape being offputting in the classroom-- and more to real injustice, but especially if it's happening to someone else, not himself. His empathy for Snape is very moving, and coming as it does with some sacrifice on Harry's part it feeds so well into Harry's emotional maturity in this story. He's become a real leader in ways he never was in the books, someone who makes conscious decisions rather than just reacting all the time, and whose decisions are well-thought out and based in compassion. And poor Snape definitely needs compassion right now...

    Author's Response:

Thank you! And there will be more of that compassion in the next chapter…

I thought the conversation between Sev and Harry was perfect. It was my favorite part of the two chapters just updated with! Very believable, and nice to see that human side of Severus that still tortures himself with guilt over Lily. And Harry's reaction was even better!

Author's Response: Thank you! Nice to know that scene worked out and, yes, it's finally time for S to show that he is human after all :-)
