The last line was perfect. What else could he do but sit down and weep? There must be decades of emotion to come flooding out after Lily left.

Wow! Lily did a great job. Severus is all on his own now with no advice from Lily. I can't wait to see what his first step is towards Harry. Please update again soon!
I've read other Christmas Carol based stories with Snape before but I think this one is my favorite. Having Lily take him on the whole journey would be the most effective way to get through to Severus and you did a nice job showing the two of them. I'm glad he was able to get some closure before she left.
