So beautiful. Beautiful story! This one is a treasure, for sure! Thanks so much for coming up with it! I love the idea of a Christmas giving tree and the secret Santa. Just beautiful. I loved the writing as well. hooray. Fantastic ending.
Author's Response: Thank you! The idea literally popped into my head one night, and I had to write out the idea before it would let me sleep. I am glad that you enjoyed it, and thought it was beautiful. I was worried about it being too emotionally laden, or the ending being too forced, but I'm glad that it did not seem to come off that way.

What a lovely story. Actually, some years ago, I picked a child's name off a similar tree. Her Christmas wish was for a Shel Silverstein book. I don't remember if I bought her a copy of The Giving Tree or another of his works but I would like to think that she enjoyed the book as much as Angela did her copy. Thanks for the story and the memory.

I absolutely loved your story from beginning to end! All of the wonderful details, from Sev & Lily, to the modern-day scenes-- it felt so real! And the wonderful irony of Harry & Severus picking each others' ornaments! (I know this IS possible, because I and a classmate drew each other's name three years out of seven in grade school!) This is a story I could read every Christmas and always feel the same sense of warm wonder. Thank you so much!

I really loved this story; out of the oneshots, this is definitely my favorite. It's written wonderfully, and I love how it gave some insight into Snape's past. Seriously, this was just such a great story :)
