Reviews For Coals of Fire
My favorite line had to be Severus talking to Minerva! ("He is a little boy and he is scared.") I really hope Sev comes around. D: Author's Response: Nah, Harry's just going to go into shock for a bit. You'll get to see in the next chapter, of course. :D Once again, as Sirius said, "We're not talking about Harry anymore. We're talking about you." It was something of a powerful insight. That comment was also about Severus. Deep down, he's still a scared little boy.
Author's Response: Fair enough, I kind of glazed over the clothes. I get sick of reading about the clothes in every fic I read. Presumably, he has some good clothes now. Thing with the leash is it has to keep Severus out of its radius, but Severus wants to be close enough to wake him from nightmares when he has them, and reluctantly, Harry wants him to wake him as well. Thanks for the nice, long review! :)
Hope they can find a way to solve this thing, but I have a feeling it will get worse before it gets better.... Author's Response: Your assessment of Snape's mental state isn't wrong. He'd be much better able to cope with his depression if Harry weren't around, and he feels extremely guilty about the situation. Hoping his death would remedy the wrongs he caused, he was willing to pay that price. You're also right about things getting worse, yes...
What a dramatic chapter, well done! I love all the angst, and the bonding. I wonder if Severus shouldn't just schedule a nap time each day, have Harry come down and study while being tied up in bed. The pepper up potions can't continue indefinitely. Harry has such a good heart. He can tell the suffering that Severus is going through, and understand that he is not being cruel or hateful anymore. I did like all the reflections and character growth that Snape went through, it's about time! Too bad he had to get into another slavery bond to see it. Fantastic chapter, thank you so much for the update! Author's Response: Hmm, the notion of an interview is pretty good. I just may use that! Thanks! You're right, the potions can't continue. But it will take more drastic measures for Severus to see that. He's obviously not caring about his health that much. He'll need a better reason than "This will hurt me" to change his ways. As a potions master, potions are always the answer. And in the vien of your next paragraph, it takes a lot for Snape to change, sometimes a second slavery bond. Glad you enjoyed it!
Author's Response: Dude, didn't I used to email with you?? And yeah, that was the observation you were supposed to make in this chapter. Definitely in denial.
