The story is great!! I hope you update it soon :)
I get Hermione can find a way to undo the slave bond.
Author's Response: She'll probably research it, but she won't come up with anything. The only way to break it is by the death of the master or the slave.

I was wondering the other day if you would update this story and my wishes have come true! Thank you so much a lovely chapter and I'm really glad that you are not making it all mushy too quickly.
Author's Response: It must have been the vibes you sent me! I'm glad I'm not making it too mushy. That was one of my concerns.
I have to say that this is one of the most difficult fanfictions I've read. Don't get me wrong, it's really well written, but the subject matter is just so heavy and dark. It's one of those stories that I anxiously await an update, but then when it comes, I have to convince myself that I really do want to read it. That reluctance to read a chapter has, however, lessened with this chapter. There is hope that Severus will be less of a bastard, and that means that I am even more anxious for the next chapter. I want to know how school goes, how everyone treats, what his decision is about the sleeping arrangements, etc. Thank you for updating this story again, and I hope you update again soon!
Author's Response: Ultimately, I promise a happy ending to this one. I think Snape is actually doing really well in adjusting his habits to meet Harry's needs. You don't unlearn habits overnight, but Snape sure is trying. Snape will try his best. He'll fail sometimes, and bad things will happen, and Snape will be very sorry, and Harry will forgive him. It's not going to be rainbows and butterflies, but these humans will do their best given the situation they are in. Hopefully that heartens you.
This story makes my heart hurt. Slavery is such an ugly thing. I know myself enough to know that I would do anything in my power to kill myself rather that live a life of humiliation and pain and despair.
If I had to choose, I'd probably ask that ron be entrusted with "leashing" me at night. But then again, Ron can't wake up on his own in the morning, so Harry would probably "earn" punishments for being late as well.
sigh...I don't actually know if I can continue with the story. There is no sign of hope, just endless torment. Especially since Snape admitted that he likes to see Harry humiliated, just not broken. Being broken would take away the fun of humiliation after all. Bastard. Only thing left would be the pleasure of beating harry.
yeah, my heart hurts
Author's Response: Well, you don't have to continue reading, and that's fine. Thanks for the respectful review. Notice, though, that despite Snape saying that, he's gone out of his way to help Harry. That line was more a reference to his earlier behavior. Snape was so upset at having to raise his hand against Harry that he got drunk. He definitely doesn't get anything out of it. Thanks for the review!
I wonder when Snape's slavery ended and under what circumstances, other than james's death? Did I miss that detail?
Author's Response: It was James' death that ended it. Sorry if that wasn't clear in the story. James' death = Snape's freedom. Theoretically, Snape's death = Harry's freedom. Don't over analyse that though, because that's not the point of the story. I don't have any plans to kill Snape.
Loving this story. Just so sad for Harry though...especially the beating part. That was horrible.
You are handling the subject matter very well though. Good job. Can't wait for more.
I was afraid you were never going to continue, I'm glad you did.
Go Sev. You are a better man than Potter Sr.
