Reviews For Coals of Fire
Author's Response: A slave bond isn't meant to be fun. :P
I really like you writing. I think it will do well for Harry to know, why Severus is so knowledgeable about the bond and it's repercussions. BTW, that's horrible that for so small offence, like not being leashed - Harry had to be beaten bloody. But I'm happy that Severus didn't make it any harder for him. And I hope that the slavery won't become public as long as possible. Looking forward to next chapters... Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoy it! Yeah, it should help Harry understand if he knows where Severus is coming from. The bond certainly is horrible. Severus was saving him from having to cut off his fingers though. The master's punishment is always less than the bond will exact. There will definitely be a public announcement at the start of the year feast. Probably not before that though.
Will Snape experiment with other punishments? Will he start to see himself in Harry? Will he feel guilty for making Harry hate him enough to form the bond? What did Sirius do to Snape? Oh and thanks for always answering your reviews. That's great. Author's Response: Yes, no need to lose the silver lining! No matter how bad it gets, I have a plan about how to get them out of it in one piece. I'm not actaully sure what Snape will do with the punishments. He hasn't told me yet. I think he's still dealing with a hangover at the moment. ;) Yeah, he's already seeing himself in Harry and it's scaring him because he doesn't want to see that. I think, at this point, he's more regretful that Harry hated enough to cause the bond, rather than guilty. Guilt might come later. Sirius...well, Sirius is another can of worms. Even if all the warnings on the story haven't come to light, chances are they will with how Sirius had treated Snape. *cough*go-read-the-warnings*cough* That should give you an idea. Just think of what Sirius will think of Snpae having full control over his godson! Heck, yes, of course, I'm going to answer reviews! I love you guys! *hugs you all*
Though I find the reason for the slave bond quite despicable. An adult who has authority over a child saves said child, and the child ends up his slave??? I'd think there would be some kind of exception to that, but where would your plot be??? LOL! Author's Response: It comes from the fact that said child hates said adult. It doesn't matter that they're child and adult. The bond only sees two humans. Two humans who hate each other. Basically, the assumption in the story is that things need to be even, you know, karma, stuff like that. So if two people like each other or are family, the bond automatically doesn't form, on the idea that those people will be willing to keep up a pleasant contact in the future. But because Harry hated Snape so much, when Snape saved Harry's life, the bond formed, to force Harry to pay Snape back, since he certainly wouldn't have done it of his own accord. Yes, the bond is cruel. Yes, I'm a cruel writer. Yes, there will be a happy ending!
Love Silvia P.S. I'm not a native speaker so please excuse my mistakes Author's Response: I'm glad you like it! Please don't apologize for not being a native English speaker. I'm honored that you're reading it. :)
The chapter is great. Some points of their discussions are definitely trigerring for me. I really hope, that Harry doesn't have any experiences with "other favours" he has been insinuating... That the abuse wasn't so horrid. Looking forward to next chapters :) Author's Response: I'm still a bit undecided about Harry's experience. I figured I'd let the story unfold however seemed natural. If anything, I suspect it would only involved Dudley, maybe some of his gang. Nothing known by Mr. or Mrs. Dursley. And hey, if you ever need someone to talk to, because it's triggering or whatever, you can always feel free to send me a PM via fanfiction under the same user name. Thanks for reviewing!
