Reviews For Moonscapes
Author's Response: Ooooh, thank you! 😊
Author's Response: Hello!!! Good to hear from you! And after I dealt with a couple dozen reviews yesterday, I decided I'd better keep checking for new reviews, even if I'm not posting new stories! To be honest, I hadn't responded to your original review all those years ago because I didn't want to get into a "shouting match" (which I've seen happen between other readers & writers). I was not feeling good about your words or attitude, and I decided to wait a bit until I could handle my response more objectively. Well, I never intended to wait THIS ling, but my personal life has taken precedence over writing, and I let everything slide! However, if nothing else, the time away did allow me to distance my emotional reaction, so -- in the end -- I WAS able to respond without flying off the handle, so it all worked out. 😉 Thank you so much for giving"Moonscapes" a second chance! It was sort of an experiment for me, creating a non-Canon character (a vampire, at that), plus going out on a limb with the concept of the paintings themselves. Creative license is the name of the game in fan fiction, and while I've stayed fairly true to Canon timeline in most of my stories, when I'm in the act of writing, details can slip through the cracks. (I even contradicted my OWN plotline in "A Midwinter Night's Whimsy", as a couple of readers pointed out!) So, it is what it is: I put forth my offering, knowing and accepting that I can't be all things to all readers, and hoping that MOST of them will enjoy my efforts. Many, many thanks for rereading and rereviewing! Have a great day! And good luck with your own one-shots! (My fave thing about writing them is knowing that I've FINISHED a story! Which can prove to be a challenge with multi-chaps!!!) Have a great day!
Author's Response: Aha! Based on the date of your review, you've been reading "Moonscapes" during the pandemic. (I've been passing the months rereading some of my fave fanfics, as well as getting into new stories. I really should've been WRITING! 😄 Many thanks for reading and reviewing, and I'm glad my story could help you through the real-life horror story the world has been struggling with.
Author's Response: My apologies for taking so long to respond to your review. I always appreciate feedback, and I'm sorry my story failed to fulfill your expectations. This story is finished; it was never intended to be a multi-chapter work, just a one-shot for Halloween. Also, I like to leave stories a bit "open ended", so my readers can speculate about what could possibly happen. Death Eaters? Where? I reread the story recently, and I didn't see any mention of them! But thanks for reading and taking the time to review. 😊
Author's Response: Hahahahahaaaaa!!! You totally said it! 😄 Hope you enjoyed the story, despite the Dursleys! Thanks for leaving a comment! Have a great day!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading it! I love writing one-shots (which, back in the day, we called "short stories"!), because I love getting a piece of writing finished! I really don't understand why so many people object to a one-shot -- I've heard some readers state, "Oh, i never read one-shots" -- because I love to read them as well as write them. And yes, I enjoyed working with the descriptions of the Moonscapes and the gallery itself... Halloween brings out a lot of inspiration... Thanks so much for your review, too. :-)
Author's Response: Excellent point about the number of portraits vs. the lack of mention of artists... I honestly hadn't thought about that angle. As for Buddleia Vesper, I see her as one of Harry's fans, recognizing him from his pics in the Daily Prophet, and acknowledging him even as she's signing an autograph for one of her own fans. (I, personally, would have had my eye on Severus... !) As for Petunia... Hmm... The Moonscape won't move in a Muggle home, but she could possibly get some uneasy vibes from it! I think it's hilarious that she's stuck with it! Thanks ever so much for reading and your lovely review!
Author's Response: Poor Petunia! She won't even remember that she really didn't want that painting after all! But yes, I really enjoyed working with the idea of the Moonscapes. And for Halloween, I just had to scare Dudley!!! Glad you liked it! And thanks a million for reading and reviewing! 👻
Author's Response: Thank you for saying so! I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊 And many thanks for reading and reviewing! 😸
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad other people can appreciate my wild sense of imagination! I would seriously love to own a Moonscape myself, but *sigh* that is not to be... Thanks for reading and reviewing! 😸 |
