Thank you, I enjoyed this story very much. In particular I liked how you illustrated in chapter 1 and chapter 6 that horrible, reflexive, petrifying fear that can seize you when faced with something/ someone from your childhood. Even if you think that you’ve grown up and decided to confront your parent like an adult, and that rationally you’re able to tell yourself that there is no reason to fear, or to turn awkward, you suddenly find yourself reacting exactly like the child you once were… Totally sympathising with poor Snape!
Author's Response: Thank you! It was really important for me to utilize those condition responses; they were actually a big part of this story for me. You could say that the real horror I was trying to portray are the scars of the abuse Snape suffered as a youth and how they still affect him years after the fact. The real monsters in life are people, after all - people are the ones who leave scars upon the psyches of one another.
I'm glad you enjoyed this tale. Thanks again for the feedback!
