I love it that Erebus is taking note and changing Severus especially with the bullying. I have an awful feeling that Dumbledore is protecting the Dursleys because he wants to send Harry back, "for the greater good", horrid man! Thank you so much for a great story

Okay, I just looked at the tags carefully. Animagus Harry, huh? Very clever. (Silly me, I thought perhaps the Dursleys had a pet.)

Author's Response: I'm having a bit of fun with that over at fanfiction.net where the there isn't the automatic assumption that both Snape and Harry will be interacting. I didn't tag Animagus!Harry there. Bwahaha

When I first read your description, I wasn't sure that I would enjoy it. It seemed like another silly familiar story, but I decided to read it any way and I am so glad I did. I love the interactions between Snape and Erebus and they way that Erebus is training Snape. I am quite worried about Harry, though.

Author's Response: It's okay to think of it as another silly familiar story. That's how I think of it. :)

Its been said that cockatoos are one of the smartest animals. Great chapter. Can't wait for the next one.

Author's Response: They are too clever to make good pets to most people. Snape is essentially living with the Weasley twins in feathered form.

Erebus must have picked up quite a bit during the last two years of sitting in on all of Severus' classes. I can believe that he might be able to catch some of the things Snape hasn't seen. Poor Harry - it sounds like the only time he has been called a 'good boy' has been during his time as a bird with Snape. I wonder if Dumbledore is keeping the Dursleys in reserve to send Harry back when he is found?

Author's Response: Erebus is either very clever or very bored or both. Probably both. Parrots are very inquisitive and when bored will get destructive. If he's behaving in class then he must not be bored...

I think Dumbledore is a manipulative old bastard and he is going to shove Harry right back with the Dursleys as soon as he is found.

Author's Response: It is easy to cast him in that light, isn't it? We shall have to see if Snape is being paranoid or not.

With not much else to do, and with the mind of a...8-year-old at this point(?), it's not surprising that Harry/Erebus took to memorizing the potions that he's seen so many times by now. It's amazing how boredom can contribute to learning at times. Still, I'm almost afraid to see what will happen when Severus finally makes the connection between the son of his personal hell and the parrot that changed his life. I just hope that their relationship will be maintained and not be broken by this 'secret'. Keep up the good work, dark

Author's Response: Even only giving half an ear to the lectures, you'd figure that two years worth of every single potions class taught at Hogwarts would make some impression. At least enough to spot a first year mistake. And close on the age. According to my timeline Erebus was 6 at the start of this chapter and 7 at the end.

Good boy Erebus, indeed! No sign of Harry returning, and why would he with the good life he has as Erebus. Maybe he never will. I can certainly see Erebus disposing of Quirrell's passenger - that turban wouldn't stand a chance against his beak.

Author's Response: Now that's an awesome mental image! Ha! It wasn't in my plan, I have to say, but it might deserve a challenge all its own. "Harry or Snape (or both) as a bird animagus taking on the back of Quirrell's head with beak and talons. Bonus points if Hedwig helps."
