Hah, Snape brooding in his room on All Hallows' Eve, playing a music box, who would have thought. :) Lily's request and Snape's half-hearted failed attempt to resist is so funny.
Thanks for sharing this (unexpectedly) sweet story! Your writing has always been a delight to read.
Author's Response: Wow! Thank you so much for the compliment! For some reason, I just wasn't in the mood to write heavy drama or gruesome stuff this Halloween. It really pleases me to hear how many people liked my "lighter" story! Glad it gave you a giggle or two! 😉 And thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
That was a really sweet kind of ghost story for Halloween, I am glad that Lily is able to unify her son and her childhood friend, through their Mutual love for her, hopefully, by her influence, Sev will be able to see that Harry is not only the son of James but also of Lily, and Harry will see his professor in a new light.... very sweet story, thanks for sharing! :)
Author's Response: Wow! I love your vision for their future! And yes, I turned softie this Halloween. Decided to do something less creepy than a couple of stories I'd previously written. So glad you liked it! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! 😊
Sweet story. (I did just manage to read it on my phone last week on holiday - couldn't wait till I was back). Nice explanation for Lily being able to appear, almost like a good Horcrux, and I always like it when Harry is just slightly cheeky towards Severus. But how awful for him to have to share his precious 15 minutes a year with Harry from now on. You are very cruel!
Author's Response: Aww... I didn't want to be really cruel, but as Lily pointed out, Sev had had her visits all to himself all these years. Maybe they'll do a "time-share", splitting their visit so each has a few minutes in private with her, but I honestly think they'd both prefer to spend the whole 15 minutes together in Lily's company, rather than miss a single second with her. Thanks for reading and reviewing! 😊
Your welcome. :)

A lovely idea and so well written thank you
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I kept turning over the haunted music box idea in my mind for a year and a half before I finally wrote this. Originally, I'd thought of Harry giving an antique music box to Ginny that had some vengeful spirit attached to it, BUT how would Snape fit into the story?? Eventually, I decided on the Snape/Lily angle, and the story practically wrote itself. Many thanks for reading and reviewing!
Too bad that didn't happen in the books. But how was Snape allowed to have Harry serve detention during dinner? When was Harry supposed to be able to eat anything?
Author's Response: Well, Snape is Snape, after all. He's probably observed Harry not celebrating (or enjoying celebrating) in the Great Hall on past Halloweens, so he figures Harry wouldn't be there anyway. In addition, the Gryffindors all know that they can get food from the house elves, whenever they want, so it's not like Harry will truly have to wait till next breakfast to eat! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
What a sweet story. I enjoyed reading it!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
