Author's Response: thank you sooo much for the review! and yeah, it was difficult alright, and trust me what you read of James in the last chapter was just a glimpse, and i agree, people do horrible things when affronted by their deepest fears or regrets or rather feel threatened for their loved ones. no one's perfect ;)
WHAT? NO! My beautiful (I never said flawless) family is falling apart! Please don't give up, Severus. Use every bit of fighting spirit and Slytherin cunning you've got in you! I really hope that Harry can find it in him to give his dad a chance. Severus really wants to explain and make up with him, buy you can't talk to dead ears. Is Harry strong enough to forgive? What will Harry think about the trial? About the trial, what the heck does James think he's doing? Is he so sick that now that Harry has proven to be a rather powerful wizard that he can just be like, "He's a Potter!"? Will they reclaim Harry as their firstborn? What about Aiden? What will he think about being throw aside because the brother he never knew is "better" than him? Speaking about Aiden brings up questions I had earlier. What's Aiden like now? What year is he in at Hogwarts? Does he act like a Draco Malfoy or is he sweeter than that? Is he innocent/oblivious or has James tainted him? I love Janet's insight on her part of the story. She must have felt so much stress. If Lily had suspected /anything/ on Janet's true feeling, who knows what the Potters could have done to her. She knew what was happening, but if she had acted to early, then Harry would have ended up hurting even more. While I don't agree that she didn't even try to help after he was abandoned, she needed to work carefully with the Potters. Please update soon! I'm still stuck in the bottom of a dark pit, and the matches you send me landed in a wet puddle. Now all I have is broken wax candles and soggy matches. (~.^) Author's Response: yay! thank you for the review! things are pretty messed up aren't they? but severus isn't about to give up, i assure you...he's a slytherin after all. forgiving Janet, seems like a reasonable thing to any other reader including myself, but from Harry's point of view, not so much, i really don't blame him though, he doesn't even know the full story, and as a person studying psychology i can relate to him, but once he knows what really happened? maybe. harry is certainly strong enough to forgive. the trial will happen whether the potters were involved or not. the thing is, even if Sirius wins, the potters still have the upper hand since they're the biological parents who also want to claim him, and /apparently/ are fit enough to do so, the fact that they have the whole ministry by their side is a big factor as well, as james said, now that Sirius promptly questioned Severus's custody claim, James now has a excuse to take Harry back now that he knows just how powerful he is. Aiden Potter will make a reappearance in the next chapter and i can't give away much more ;) i love Janet's roll in the story as well, though i don't condone her actions, i believe that there wasn't much she could do anyways, and she had to make hard choices in order to make the best out of everything, we will also see more on that in the next chapter. i will update so soon! probably tomorrow or even today (by my time), hang in there i'm sending lightsabers! or a wooden ladder ;) |
