This is a really good story. I am interested to hear about what the wand means and read about a Harry Potter that nobody expected.

Even in the books Ron was smart when he tried to be and put in an effort.
Interesting! I've read other Ravenclaw!Harry fics, but never a Ravenclaw!Ron fic before. Although there's no reason why not--Ron can be intelligent, he just doesn't usually bother to be so. But now he'll be forced to think.
It'll be fun to see them both in the house of eagles!
Hmmm... I like the logic.
Although I might have wished Ron ended up in Hufflepuff, I do like how you played on his chess strategies skills. It irks me that he never applies ot to "real" life.
Hufflepuff would have been nice too, but that might just be my soft heart toward the badgers speaking.

Interesting, though perhaps a little too well spoken for a kid his age, especially if he doesn't talk to many people.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
