Good start from the point of view of the neighbours thank you

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed that. Not gonna lie, I was trying to somewhat mirror the introduction to the Philosopher's Stone.

I hadn't realized that Julian would be meeting the staff. He will be really tired after such a long day. Severus will be in for a ton of questions after this.

Author's Response: I vaguely mention this in another chapter, but Severus is going to avoid those questions for as long as physically possible.

That was a happy chapter for Julian. Presents and a chance to see the carriages. I had wondered if he would even be able to stand up after being bedridden for so long, much less able to walk to the windows. It was nice of Snape to arrange for him to go outside.

Author's Response: He needed a happy moment. And making an appearance in front of the students was an added benefit. Initially, it felt rather jarring to add (this scene and the Hagrid scene from earlier were originally one scene), but it ended up working better than I could have hoped. Muscles start to get weaker after only 3 days of bedrest. That was actually one of the first things I learned when I started working in ICU. We (prior to COVID) have physical therapists and occupational therapists who come around and do therapies with our patients while they are on sedation vacation (sedation is turned off so we can better judge if they need to be on ventilators or not). There are protocols for how long a patient needs to sit up every day, what sorts of activities they need to be doing, and what their therapy goals are. All of this to prevent muscle wastage which can lengthen hospital stays. So, one month of laying around and having your body feeding on your muscles for energy will end up with you not being able to stand.

I enjoyed the interaction between Snape and Malfoy. Lucius seems like a man that would use his position and wealth to lord it over Severus. I'm sure seeing Julian's condition rattled him.

Author's Response: Gotta keep them Malfoys on their toes!

Awww. Harry/Julian wants a father so bad. How can Snape not respond to that. He may not have wanted to be a father but he would be crazy to pass it up.

Author's Response: Exactly. I felt kinda bad for pulling the "Lily's son" gimmick so hard, but if it works, it works.

Having Hagrid walking to Hogsmeade was a nice touch. Who else to ask about magical creatures and their illnesses? And Snape is right - Albus should give him some help dealing with the cost.

Author's Response: So, originally this scene was going to be Severus riding on the carriages with Hagrid to Hogsmeade at the end of the year, but then Julian/Harry needed more time to recover without me going "ooo, magic" and I ended up bumping up the entire timeline by a month. And then I realized I had an extra month of time I had to fill.... But yeah, Hagrid is the best for asking about dangerous magical creatures, no doubt about that.

I enjoyed the twins and their reaction to Harry, especially George's. Word will get around quickly from the twins. I also found the chocolate to be an interesting solution to Harry's problem. I hope Harry will be able to enjoy it.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoy this! I really do! I know this fic is very information heavy and can get rather hard to slog through from time to time, so adding chapters like this to liven it up a little brought joy to my heart! Thank you so much for all your reviews, btw. They really help spur me along!

Never really bothered to read a vampire Harry story before, but this is quite interesting. Severus has properly stepped up to the mark, hope it continues.

Author's Response: Glad to have you here! Hope you enjoy!
