I lost my beloved hubby last 10/31. We'd spent six weeks from the end of 2019 to Jan 2020 with him going thru daily radiation and 2 chemo treatments but they pronounced the tumor --center of his chest, between his left lung and aorta-- dead. But then they had the brilliant idea to give him "biotherapy"; "The miracle after cancer treatment!" to supposedly prevent the cancer from returning. What they *didn't* tell us, never admitted to, and that *I* had to discover after Terry passed was that the treatment is *hard* on *healthy livers*, which Terry's wasn't! Even when he began having "dementia-like" symptoms they didn't tell *me* what was causing it! I had begged them to refer us to the GI doctor to treat his previously diagnosed HepC BEFORE making Terry go through the biotherapy, but they refused! The oncologist finally gave us the referral, 2 months before Terry died, but by then he was in stage 4 cirrhosis and experiencing nearly full-time hepatic encephalopathy. Yeah, they killed the cancer and then killed his liver. What I wouldn't have given to have the skills that Severus has! To be able to create medicines to give relief to his son and *work* towards a cure! The hospital in your story was as useless as the "Premiere 'teaching hospital" in TN that we put Terry's life into the hands of. What's very telling is that from 2004 to 2016 it *was* a *Great* hospital (Terry was a "frequent" flyer: Motorcycle wreck in '04, dx w/emphysema & COPD, arrhythmia & heart ablations in '08, '13, & '16, appendicitis '08, pneumothorax & lung reduction w/pleurodesis 2016) but I think they got bought in 2015/16 cuz all of the sudden the entire atmosphere of the hospital changed overnight! They went from being a wonderfully caring medical facility to being uncaring and financially driven! Once again, I've 'word vomited all over your review. I'll try to stop doing that! You should see what I cut out! 😲 Good chapter! MelJ
