But I find the very idea of pushing the agenda of the very recent divisive myth of "Toxic Masculinity" repugnant and insulting toward *half* of the population on our planet! The truth is there are *Men* and then there are *Abusive Male Bullies*! Gender stereotyping is another malignant push by TPTB to place more *divisions* in our culture and to distract from *their* "power grab" and attempts to ENSLAVE US ALL! These divisions make it much easier to /take *away*/ our RIGHTS and FREEDOMS when couched in the language of "righting wrongs" and so-called "inclusions"! Do you really believe that burning down *Black Owned* businesses and destroying predominately *Black* neighborhoods and services (hospitals, clinics, and Fire & Rescue) is *in the "best" interests* of *working-class* black families? The *same* folks PAYING BLM to do that are the ones who *coined* the phrase "Toxic Masculinity"! Those same oligarchs are the ones behind Planned Parenthood and it's no mistake or happenstance that puts PP clinics smack dab in the middle of those same predominately black neighborhoods! Women were making great strides towards "gender equality" right up until the mid-'80s when those same oligarchs got into the act and started subverting the movement! I *watched* helplessly, as these basturds started pushing the ideas that "Girls Gone Wild", being sexually promiscuous, and *single* teenage motherhood meant *girls* and women were supposedly "Liberated"! WTF?! While on the other side of the "gender divide" these *same folks* were publishing hateful diatribes *against* "Women's Liberation"! While *at the same time* they were also pushing the LGBTQ separatist agenda! Instead of *inclusion* "they" were pushing "tolerance" which is a "hold your nose and accept"; the exact opposite of "inclusion"! I was born and raised in So. Cal., L.A. County. I was raised "color blind" and *nobody* I knew CARED if someone was black or white or Asian or gay or straight or male or female when it came to homeownership or hiring! It wasn't until I moved to E.TN, in 1987, that I saw my 1st "Help Wanted - Male"/female classified job ad! But it wasn't until I briefly moved to Jacksonville, FL for work purposes, that I ran into "reverse racism" for the very 1st time! That was when I began to realize that there were "undercurrents" at work in our society/country working *very* hard to keep us divided instead of united against the common threat of the "New World Order" oligarchs. "Toxic Masculinity" is just a new way for them to divide us! I've actually met many more "Toxic Females" than "Toxic Males" in my life. There are both male and female *sociopaths*: Narsissistic *people* whose main thrust in their lives is to have everyone's attention on *them* and believe they have a *right* to whatever *they want*! They want *their way* and woe betide anyone or anything that stands between them and what they want! Labeling "Toxic Personality Disorder" with a gender appellation is divisive and demeaning! I've seen more couples where the *women* wear the "pants" in the family and the men just say "Yes, Dear" than the other way around. I'm 59 years old and I've been "awake and aware" since the early '80s, but where being "A & A" is inclusive, "Woke-ism" is divisive. The last thing we need right now is more things to exclude and divide us! We're fighting an enemy that wants to quash the Individual and eliminate the Devine. We're *all* God's children except some individuals who are fighting against us from a much *lower* region. Vernon Dursley is a Narcissistic *Abusive Bully* with the agenda to demean, degrade, and grind down someone smaller and weaker than him! It's HIS, individual, sick, twisted, and evil power trip and is, in no way, representative of *all* MEN! He and those few like him have *chosen* to either re-enact *their* upbringing OR he's just a sadistic repressed pedophile who again, has CHOSEN this method to perpetrate his *rage* at being prevented from doing what he *really* wants, against a child! I've read case histories that perfectly exemplify "Vernon Dursley" and those professionals *never* labeled these people with "Toxic Masculinity"! The term is an *agenda* and *not* a psychologically accurate Personality Disorder. Vernon Dursley is a toxic individual raising his son to be a bully and actively treating his nephew who is not human and will not ever be actively showing an expressively masculine physique as though he is garbage because he sees him A: as a freak of nature for being non-human, magical being, and B: as a freak for not conforming to the stereotypical gender norms assigned to males. I have seen this so so so many times growing up from the other side that it made me fearful for my own life when I came out as bisexual to my own family. This entire story is going to be based on many of my own experiences growing up. So if you see it as "Toxic Masculinity," feel free to do so. Just remember, I put my experiences into my stories. Also, this will very much be a pro-trans rights story as it was started during Pride Month. Also, because I'm continually pissed at JKR over her entire take on this issue. I could go on a very very long rant about how I thoroughly disagree with a huge amount of what you are saying, but this is not the appropriate site to do so on, nor is this the appropriate fic to do so on, NOR would it benefit anyone in the long run. Just ... please keep your politics out of reviews? Please? Is that too much to ask? Now, I've had a very long week dealing with the joys of working in a hospital overrun with COVID patients and the insanity that brings. I'm going back into my hole and writing what brings me joy. And responding to political rants on a fanfiction site does not bring me joy. Good day, Desert

Author's Response: I'm getting into some rather dark and drawn out parts of Electric Avenue, so I needed an adorable story to take my mind off it. I don't know why, but I always end up thinking of abused Harry as dramatically undersized compared to his classmates. Not like outside of the realm of possibility (though I did do a story like that which will have its sequel posted soon enough), but I just picture him as being noticeably shorter and too thin. And the ears... it breaks my heart when I see dogs with cropped ears, but I can imagine Vernon doing that to Harry too. Especially since Aunt Marge breeds bulldogs which are one of the most common breeds to have cropped ears. |
