That scene with Mr. Diggory and the Hufflepuffs had me in tears along with Harry. Bullying of any kind is so hard to go through - I know from experience growing up how it can hurt you, down to your soul.
I love the way Harry handled the Quill, and the way that Severus reacted (almost like a worried parent) made me grin like an idiot. Severus calling Harry by name, instead of Potter made me giddy as well. Goodness but I love where this is going.

Poor Harry! He is sensible in that he is better off in the apprenticeship scheme, but he needs so much more!

A fantastic chapter, I love Mrs. Clarke, I hope we see more of her in the story. Harry was so resourceful in a difficult situation and I think Severus sees this. I love the takeaway idea for meals such a good idea. Thank you for updating
Awwwwww! So happy Harry got to spend Christmas with the Weasleys. Snape is so secretive! But that was a nice surprise!

Also: it's too bad Harry can't hug Snape. It would be nice, but I can see how that would be awkward.
I squealed when I saw another update. You are truly an amazing story teller. The scene by the apprentice fire was absolutely my favorite! I love learning more about the apprenticeship, and I hope Harry continues it on willingly. It seems to be really good for him.
Thanks for another great update! I was so happy to see this chapter pop up. I really enjoyed the warmth and camaraderie of the gathering, and am wishing I had a piece of fire cooked ham to eat right about now! Snape’s other surprise was wonderful as well. I fear for what Umbridge has planned though. Thanks for the lovely images. I’ll be curious to learn which parts of this story and others were inspired by the images you saw on Magic AI.
Author's Response: Basically the entire gathering was inspired by those two images. The first image that had popped up (the one with the tree floating above the fire) had come up due to a completely different image I was trying to create with AI. It made me think of everyone out in the woods having a gathering as I described. Then after I had gotten them to the gathering in writing I was curious to see what else I could get the AI to come up with for a gathering like that and got several images like the second image, the one showing people around the fire. That inspired me to write about the apprentices having their own fire and from there that spiraled into Harry meeting new people. I just had a lot of fun with it in general. I have other images the AI generated of Harry or Snape or both out in the woods foraging and many more images the AI came up with, most of which will probably never be shown. Another aspect inspired by the images was all these images of people gathering by the fire in different places. In my mind they show all the different potions gatherings across the country that had taken place that night. I had even considered sending Harry and Snape around from one to another, but ended up not doing that. I can share some of those pics of other potions gatherings if you want.
