Again, sorry if I sound annoying, but that just in this moment, Tonks would insist on eating something, just so you have a way how they can find out that Harry had no food just seems really unbelievable.
Tonks is an auror and the first thing she things of when they find Harry all left alone is food?
I think you wanted to create a situation where everyone realized how badly Harry was treated so they (especially Severus?) would want to take care of him. Which is good, but the situation could have been helped. Harry could have asked for help/told them what was going on right on the first day.
He's a 15 year old boy and that he would be stupid enough to starve himself, I can't believe. He would have at least told Ron or Hermione.
