Reviews For Antiquity's Corollary
Cheers, Delaine
I read alsmost half of the story on fanfiction.net, but now I do here, as I think potions & snitches is more organized and 'cleaner'... I admire you - you've got great talent and the patience to still write on this one fic even after you've written so much (and long) chapters of it! Thanks for sharing! It's awesome! Author's Response: Lol, I myself am sometimes still surprised when I look at how much I've written. It's pleasing to know other people draw enjoyment from my simple hobby. Thanks for your review!
I'm definitely going to like your story Carolina Author's Response: lol, *gives cookie*. :) Of course I am an Alan Rickman fan, what kind of... person... would I be if I wasn't? Yeah, it is a goofy movie, but whatcha gonna do? I enjoy it. My friends refuse to watch it with me, though, lol. Lol, I do the exact same thing- I copy and paste. I certainly hope you enjoy the story! ~Gonnabe
Author's Response: Lol, I'm not grounded off the computer anymore. It was my intention all along to have times when Severus would begin telling Harry more personal things, especially involving Lily. It's rather enjoyable to write now that the time has finally come, because I've been storing up all this information in my brain for so long. I can't read fanfiction anymore because I'm afraid to get my stories mixed up! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, and thanks for the review :)
I don't review very often, but you say that reviews encourage you to post sooner and I would really like that, besides you really deserve to be praised for this amazing fic. What I like the most about it, is the dynamics between Harry and Severus. You make them sound so In Character, specially Severus. I like it that you didn't commit the sin most Severus/Sevitus writers usually make; portraying a way too soft Severus. It's not just that I like angst, I really think that you depict wonderfully the difficult relationship Harry and Severus would be bound to have in their situation. And really, isn't the beauty in this kind of stories to see them overcome any difficulties? I'm really sorry I haven't reviewed before. Now I've forgotten half the things I wanted to say. Mmm... I also liked how Hermione told Harry off in chapter 31, it's fun to see Hermione acknowkedging Severus' efforts. And I really liked how Harry stood his ground when Remus tried to make him leave his father's house. Way to go, Harry! Finally, I'll beg you one more time, to please, please don't make us wait too long to read chapter 38. Keep up the good work Alexandra Lee-
Author's Response: Wow, thank you very much, I'm very flattered.
I agree with what you say about a soft Severus, as well. One of the reasons I rarely read fanfiction of this type anymore is for that reason- Severus is often portrayed as a softy. The man isn't, at all, and it bothers me when people act like this sudden revelation will suddenly turn him into a big teddy bear. That's not his personality, and it's wrong to ask someone to alter their personality to make a relationship work- the same holds true in making a fanfiction work. I know it's been a horribly long time since my last update, and I truly apologize. It's been horribly busy for me lately- I've got homecoming this week, I was out of town last week, and I'm in my junior year of High school and its absolutely killing me, especially given the classes I take. I will try really hard to update soon, and your review certainly encouraged me. If I did not have to go to school tomorrow I would go and gladly stay up until 2 am writing for you! Thanks again for the review, ~Gonnabefamous
I feel really bad now, but I'm going to review anyway, because I can't believe this hasn't got any reviews yet. The reason I feel bad about this is that I read some chapters a while ago, but stopped reading because long fics put me off in general (and I must be a massive hypocrite for this, because my fic will probably be around 35- 40 chapters in the end!), and stopped reading as much fanfic in general. So, I just jumped into this chapter now, after missing much of your story out. But I think it can be read on its own -- and in fact, I like that about it as well. It has lovely moments of Harry and Severus trying to get on, and I love it. I love the way Harry feels he shouldn't give up on Snape. It's all so well written. I keep putting off/dreading writing the times I'll have to have Harry and Severus in such open moments myself -- but this was an utter pleasure to read. You draw Snape so well, I really feel I can imagine the characters in this. I think I feel a bit less guilty now. Phew. ;) Author's Response: Long fics put you off? Oh dear, this fic will reach about 100 chapters! Still, I understand where you are coming from- I rarely read fanfiction, though admittedly, when I do it's a novel length romance and I read it over the course of a few days. Naturally, I would suggest reading the whole fic, because you have missed so much, but I'm sure you have limited time and just getting this monster chapter read was a difficult enough task in itself! But if you do want to read the whole thing, but worry about length, I always find it is better to copy and paste the whole story into one word document and read it over time. You don't have to feel guilty about not reviewing- this story actually has been reviewed for this chapter, but most of that is on fanfiction.net. Still, I do appreciate that you took the time to drop me a line! Thanks, ~Gonnabefamous
Author's Response: pshhh if there was no hope, this would not be a Sevitus... or maybe it would be, who knows? I'm working hard on the next update.
It's sooo sad what happened to Ginny. Of everyone to get hurt... T_T I'm glad that Draco went to get help from Dumbledore. And I'm also glad that you had him act on what Draco said, even before Ginny and Harry's notes arrived. To bad Lucius got away! They always get away! Author's Response: Not always- but this time, yes, lol. At least Ginny makes a recovery, eh? |
