Green Eyes

Your reflection

emeralds in his face.

Every day

the face of my nemesis

makes the memories

resurface.

Bitterness.

Resentment.

Pain.

Remorse.

Grief.

Loss.

Longing.

But most of all

regret

for all the could have beens.

In another time

I might have called him

son of mine

if not for that fateful day.

A careless word, it is my shame.

And then came Trelawney

my foolish report

sealed your fate.

My greatest mistake

I am to blame

I can never

forgive myself.

But I try to make amends

by protecting the survivor and his friends.

For the rest of my days

my sorrow knows no end.

I will never forget

your lifeless face

your empty eyes.

The terrible sight

of your extinguished light

and empty stare.

My worst nightmare.

My deepest despair.

I wish it was not too late

but I have accepted my fate

for the sake of your babe.

He may be the spawn

of my childhood's bane

but in him you will never fade.

I will get my revenge

on my true bane-

the betrayer who took your light

forever from my sight

Extinguished your life

and closed your eyes.

Irrevocably.

Hopefully

I will pay the debt for all what I have made

My silverdoe, my eternal love

can you forgive me one day?

In the eyes of your son

I see the ghost of your smile.

It is like the sun

rising to shine.

A light so bright

in the darkest night.

So still, for yet a while

I will try

to carry on as a spy.

Secretly

stand by his side.

For the boy with your emerald eyes

for the sake of your sacrifice

I will give my life.

And eventually

beyond the veil,

on the other side

Beyond space and time

we will reunite.
The End.
