Glimmering mirrors green
Windows to past times
The shadow of your smile
Meets my eyes
An elusive ghost
A mirage
From a time long lost
My gaze meets his
Time freezes, stands still
In his gaze, I see the past
The Memory of it all
The many could have beens
All dreams
That never came to be
An echo
Of a lost life
A life cut short before its time
The pain remains
Yes, it lingers still
And always will
My Beloved
In my memory you will always stay
But then I am brought back to present times
Meet his questioning Eyes
The son, for whom you gave your life
The son, that I deep inside
Wishes was mine
But in his eyes
I still see your lingering smile
Glimmering like emeralds in sunlight
Promising that darkness has no might
