Nightmares and Murmurs. by Skylar Kay Nash
Author's Notes:
This trip will take place where the Triwizard tournament did.
Uagadou, Castelobruxo, Mahoutokoro, Ilvermorny, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Koldovstoretz, and Hogwarts are the 8 wizarding schools.

The decision by the Wizarding School Board made headlines. First proposed by Severus, there was to be a trip for the two best Defensive witches and wizards from each school, sixteen in total, and would be overseen by a teacher selected by the Board from each School.

The two Hogwarts representatives were Harry Potter, and Draco Malfoy. Already, the two boys were determined to outshine the other, and the rivalry between them only heightened when they were assigned their rooms in the Hotel they'd be staying at.

They were roommates. Harry pleaded with Severus to give him a different roommate. Anyone but Malfoy.

Unfortunately, Professor Snape couldn’t help. He wouldn’t have even if he could, thought Harry miserably.

He and Malfoy left each other well alone in the room, but both avoided it if they could.

One night, as they were sleeping, Malfoy heard Harry muttering in his sleep, begging someone. Begging someone to show mercy? Who could scare Potter that much?

Wondered Malfoy, and he sat there, watching the boy writhe in his sleep. He let out a scream of pain, and he was awake, sitting upright, and holding his scar.

Malfoy couldn’t meet his eyes. Neither said anything, and there was an uncomfortable silence. Malfoy tried being nicer to Harry in the next few days. Severus watched them carefully.

Round 1 by Skylar Kay Nash
They were paired up, each with someone from a different school. No one would duel their own school if it could be helped. Harry was paired with a formidable looking young wizard from Koldovstoretz. He sneered at Harry.

"Never zot I'd 'ave zu Pleazure of Defeating you, potter." He said.

"I never thought I'd be here, dueling for others entertainment." Harry replied.

Harry advanced to the next round. This wizard was sent back to school. He was unfortunately stuck with Malfoy. Over the next few days, they had gone through 4 more rounds.

Both Ilvermorny competitors had been eliminated, as well as one from Koldovstoretz, and Mahoutokoro.

harry knew he ought to be relieved, but he found this annoying. He didn't understand why he had to do this.

He collapsed in bed. Soon, Malfoy entered the room. "Potter, we need to talk." He said sharply.

Chapter 3 by Skylar Kay Nash
Harry looked at the blonde boy, perplexed. "About?" He asked.

"Every night, you wake up screaming. Potter, last year, I saw you face a dragon, you went to the depths of the lake, and came out fine. I know you had to have fought the merpeople for Gabrielle. And you came out of the maze. I know you weren't the same after, but you pulled it together by this year. What's going on?" Malfoy said.

You see me with it all together, but that doesn't mean I do." Harry replied.

"A pampered brat like you couldn't understand." He added. Malfoy glared at him. He'd been concerned about him, had just wanted to make sure he was alright, bt of course, this was Potter.

What would he know, about being afraid to go home?

What would he know about fearing your father's return?

What could he know about having parents who'd disown you if you failed?

He couldn't. Arrogant Harry potter had everything just handed to him while everyone else had clawed their way to survive.

At least, that's what Malfoy believed.

Harry and Draco hadn't spoken since that incident. harry still seemed to be having nightmares, though Draco soon learned to place a silencing charm around Harry's bed.

After two more rounds, there were 6 duelers left, and then a Durmstrang student used an unforgivable curse on Harry. Crucio. Harry writhed in pain.

Before Snape could do anything, Draco had. He stunned the Durmstrang student, and went straight to Harry's side. Harry looked up, in shock.

"You alright, Potter?" He asked. Harry nodded.

"What is the meaning of this?" Severus snapped at the headmaster of Durmstrang, Karkaroff.

"He wanted to win the duel." Karkaroff replied.

"That is an illegal spell. He is not allowed to do such curses." Severus replied.

"Not according to wizarding law, he's not, but the rules of the dueling match never said no to that one." Karkaroff replied.

"The rules say no illegal spells!" Severus replied.

"Where?" Karkaroff asked.

Ludo Bagman brought the rule book forward, and severus turned to the page, and shoved it under Karkaroff's nose.

Karkaroff had more excuses. In the end, that student was sent to the Death Eaters, and Durmstrang was banned from participating in anymore interschool magical sports.

Harry went back to the room he shared with Draco. When he entered, He saw Draco as he was changing his shirt.

His back was littered with bruises and scars. Movement seemed to hurt him, and Draco didn't seem to notice that Harry was in the room.

Draco turned, and froze. He and Harry stared at each other in awkward silence for several minutes.

"What, Potter?" Draco asked.

"Who did that to you?"

"Doesn't matter."

"Yes it does."

"Potter, I thought I was nothing but an over pampered brat to you." Draco snapped.

"Yeah, I did too, but not if someone's beating on you." Harry said.

"Potter, Honestly, doesn't matter. I'm fine." Draco sighed, wearily.
