A/N: It was probably inevitable. Severitus's Challenge has spawned so many wonderful fics, including one of my more prominent influences, Saerry Snape's "Not Myself". (Don't try to read it all at one sitting. You'll be up 'till all hours.) So now I had to give it a try for myself. Don't worry. I'm not giving up on LBA or AAB.

Now, this story won't be a romance at any time, unlike the others. It begins in the summer before Year 6 and will cover that year. I'm ignoring HBP entirely, so this is AU.
