Very interesting to see things from Hogwarts' point of view; never read that before. Great!

Severus is trying to get help for his sick son.

Such a heart-breaking story. But beautiful. Put in mind of Oscar Wilde's fairy-tales: the way Severus and Harry spoke, the sensory - especially visual - images, etc.

Also, it was wonderfully tied together with the poem. I haven't read any of Goethe's poetry but the piece given here reminded me of "The Sorrows of Young Werther" which is usually nailed down as a paragon of sentimentalism. However, your story seems to lean more towards romanticism than maudlinism and, with it's ominous atmosphere and tragic outcome, it draws in the reader and doesn't let go.

    Absolutely beautiful!

Harry Potter has spent a childhood being bullied by his cousin and belittled by his Guardians. A change is welcome, and when it arrives in the form of Magic and Hogwarts, is it what Harry dreamed for?

A series of snippets centring on Harry and Severus over the duration of Harry's years at Hogwarts.

There's still a lump in my throat... I think I need to go and leave a tear-stain on someone's shoulder. Very emotional story.

Severus has but one wish for Christmas--that his children quit fighting and get along for the holidays. Will it come true? Or is it merely wishful thinking?

A Christmas story set in the Never Again series.

This was wonderful. I enjoyed immensely "Never Again" (since I love all fics that allow Tobias to atone, to some degree at least, for his rubbish treatment of Severus as a child), though the sequel wasn't to my taste. This companion piece, however, was simply lovely. I guess, Christmas stories can be read throughout the year - they always give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside :) And I was in dire need of some heart-warming fluff.

It's always interesting to see such family dynamics as this - the bickering between siblings, the parents' reaction to it, and then learning to get along. I was a little dubious about Harry's portrayal at first (since my nephews are nearing thirteen and they couldn't care less about girls:), but then again, not all boys are the same (the film "Don Juan DeMarco" comes to mind:). Oh, and picturing Draco playing with dolls put a huge smile on my face that won't come off that easily :)

Sweet little story, topped with a happy ending - thank you!

Author's Response: You're welcome! If you liked this, there's another little fic that comes after it called the 4th of July Deer with more of Tobias and the Snapes on vacation in Pennsylvania.

After the final battle, Harry and Severus are given a second chance.

Very emotional story. If someone says it's May outside, I don't believe them. It's Christmas all year round, thanks to your story!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you!  Glad you enjoyed it.

It wasn't that hard. Write an essay about what he had done wrong- surely Potter could not fail at something so simple.

There is only one type of stories that make me tear up: sexual abuse. It's horrible when it happens to adults, but it's devastating when it happens to adolescents. Makes me sick at heart and sick to my stomach.

It was written beautifully, despite the horrendous topic. Can't say I enjoyed it, but thumbs-up to you for having the guts to write something like this. Ten sniffling frogs for you.

    Author's Response:

I think that as fanfiction readers we take the reality ofthe situation far too lightly... That's one of the primary reasons at the begining of a story I always advocate reporting anything suspicious.  If I've even managed to convey a fraction of the how evil and heinous the act, then I've reached my goal.

Thank you for taking the time to review.

    Song

Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...

NOTE: This story has a prologue. It is not necessary to the plot of the story, but if you wish to read it, it is called(predictably enough) 'Prologue to Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat'

Wonderful! Harry seems to be a bit of a smarty. Loved that the Slytherins weren't hostile and Ron's still his friend. Overall, the story's so captivating and funny! I'd write a review for each and every chapter but I'm really drawn in. Back to the reading then...

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing!! Yeah he's nobody's fool. Hope you continue to like it as you go on. :-)

Superpower Harry combined with abused Harry makes up the perfectly likable character... Not this one though. I really like your Harry - that kid's got some spirit and he's not giving in that easily to the "comfort thing", which, again, is a part of a 100% likable character. And Snape's insecurity about his own ability to do any good is captured really well - just like Harry uses his anger, so does Snape puts up a mask to hide his vulnerability (yes, he's a bit of a softie underneath that sarcastic exterior, never doubted that;).

I find abused!Harry stories very disturbing, actually. (Well, inflicting pain on a child SHOULD be disturbing.) But the humorous overtone mitigates, somewhat, that distressing quality (even though it's more of a biting sarcasm than humour). Nevertheless.

Great, great story! Whatever I said above, I'm looking forward to the "comfort thing", hehe :) Who wouldn't want to see Harry set free of his angst? By Snape, no less.

Author's Response: LOL yeah. Harry's only 11 years old, for goodness' sake! Anyway, thanks for reviewing, glad you like it. :-)

Desperate to escape his guilt and nightmares after the third task, Harry transforms into a hawk by accident and ends up breaking both wings and suffering partial memory loss. He is found by Snape, and while the professor nurses him back to health discovers the truth about Severus and who are really his friends and enemies at Hogwarts.

Looks like a promising beginning for an interesting story. And birds rock! And Harry rocks... and Severus... Right, I guess I should return to the story now.

Author's Response: They all do! I love ALL of them! Enjoy amd thanks for reviewing! :)

"Unicorn-hearted" - oh, that was a good one. Seems that Hipogriffs aren't the only ones Draco dislikes, huh? Too bad.

Author's Response: Draco dislikes any animal he doesn't understand, or he can't bully.  But he won't get away with hurting Sev's familiar.
