- So glad you posted early! This is great! I love the glow-in-the-dark ghost pail! And Snape as a little vampire is precious! Totally at odds with his understandable attitude-- ha! Halloween is, in one respect, like Christmas: its "magic" appeals to the imagination in all of us, taking us back to the candy-laden days of yore! I can still see moonlit clouds scudding past bare tree branches as I wandered the streets in my Hushpuppies with plastic pumpkin pail in hand! Thanks for the memories! ;-)

- Lovely details, from the 7th Years' Common Room and the intriguing concept of McGonagall's taste in Snape's videos (!) to ginger babies and James' Patronus -- this story has wonderful elements of surprise throughout! I do realize you were aiming for fluff, so we don't get to actually see what happened in Harry's dorm room, but oooooh, if you ever decide to develop what happened behind closed door... Wow! This was a great little story! Leaves much to the imagination, but satisfies a lot anyway! Hurrah! :-)

- I really enjoyed the waking-up scene after Halloween! Also, Severus being labeled "paternal" -- he really plunged in instead of holding the matter at arm's length, after Lily informed him of how things were. So many stories have him fighting off the idea of being a father; yours shows what can happen (even awkwardly) when he takes the bull by the horn. Lovely ending, especially with the flannel!
Author's Response: aaw, thank you! glad you liked the scene :) Yeah, I wanted to see how Sev would be if he reacted responsibly and was like "that's my kid, don't care about anything else" I personally believe that knowing he had a child with lily would have a tremendous effect on him and the whole idea would have great appeal. I don't think that its being harry potter would deter him to much - more like a little bitter after taste, if you understand what i mean ;) haha!
On Halloween when the house elves decide that the demands on them are too much, and the appreciation too little, students and staff are forced to fend for themselves. - I love all of the endearing details, from Snape in an apron, to Harry hiding under the table, Hufflepuff suddenly getting ham, to 40 types of goodies for the elves! It really did the students good to serve their detentions working like elves in order to gain a true appreciation of how much work goes into the meal that heretofore had appeared like magic in the Great Hall. Even using magic, the elves certainly put time and effort into their work. And best of all, Harry doesn't have to go back to Surrey in the summers! Yay!
Snape is forced to spend time with Harry at Privet Drive while the boy comes to terms with his impending death.

- Intolerant! That's ... a mild way of describing the Dursleys! But seriously, the first part of this chapter was exciting (do we find out what that creature was?!), and the rest of it angsty (please don't let Harry die!). Loved the detail of Snape having to Scourgify his own face, and how efficiently he dealt with Vernon!

- Lovely story, wonderfully paced! I want to have some ghost meringues (with eyes -- hee!) and gingerbread skeletons! I really loved all of the painstaking details you included regarding the party/preparation and the trick-or-treating. Harry had a truly memorable Halloween, and Severus got a much-needed introduction into Muggle culture with a little help from some new friends. Nicely done! Author's Response: Hee, Your Welcome, and TftR! I had to do something for Halloween, something to mark that particular day in the HP canon. Rowling generally ignored it, despite it being such a momentous occasion. So...yeah. And Snape would be forever cynical like that!
