About me:

Greetings from Virginia! I began reading Harry Potter fanfiction in 2006, and P&S is my favorite site by far! As a writer, I just hope that my readers will enjoy my stories. I always appreciate it when people take the time to leave a review!

My hobbies include reading (of course!), quilting, Star Trek (TOS being my fave series), and I've recently begun studying Esperanto online.

I love cats, although I no longer have my own. But 26 cats have shared my life since I was a young child, and I have a plethora of wonderful, zany, and sometimes bizarre memories! (During the pandemic, I discovered a wonderful YouTube channel in Turkey--if you are a cat lover, please check out the "walter santi" YouTube channel and prepare to fall head over heels with numerous cats, plus Walter the dog! Santi is the white indoor cat.)

Alan Rickman is forever in my heart. 🐢

Oh, NO!!! Dumbledore knows... WHAT, exactly? Does he really know that Tevin is Harry? Or is he only guessing? Is the letter to Arabella a ruse, trying to gauge Severus and Ophelia's reaction? And is it legal for Dumbledore to abduct a child, regardless of circumstances, to carry out his intended plans for the greater good? WHEW!!! Eagerly awaiting the next installment! (It had been a while, so I went back and reread the past four chapters or so before sinking into this update! Oh, also liked the bodyguard plot, and also wondering what sort of trouble Tevin will manage to get into using the Map. He knows it's intended to be used to stay safe, but KIDS WILL BE KIDS-- right??! Awesome chapter in an awesome story!!!

Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing!  Sorry it took so long to respond!  Unfortunately, I cannot answer ANY of your questions without giving away the rest of the story!  Agh!  Hope you enjoy the next installments.  Thank you! ~ RK

Awww.... Loved the sweet ending of this chap! (And yay that the story itself it finished! Way to go!) // Kudos to Celene for her calm acceptance of Remus' condition; a very nice scene, so sensitively done. And Remus and Tonks meet again... :-) // Am really intrigued by the training of the students who will be keeping eyes & ears open. This will be fascinating to watch them when they finally swing into action! (I keep remembering Flitwick vs. Fawkes!) // Good job, as always! Can't wait for the rest of the story!

Author's Response: Thank you!  Yes, the story is finished and I am making some edits now.  Huzzah!  Glad you liked the Remus and Celene scene.  I felt it had to be done.  Poor Remus needs some acceptance in the world.  Thank you or reviewing!  The rest will be up as soon as I finish the edits.  Stay tuned! ~ RK

Oh, what a very sad chapter... Poor Ophelia-- and poor Tevin, who will obviously blame himself for the accident which (presumably) led to her death. Even if he is made to understand about the Vow, it's going to be tough going for little Tevin. Poor Severus, for the pain he's experiencing, and poor Arabella-- what an awful way to go, and poor Mister Snowflake. To top it off, poor Remus, for having to impersonate Arabella-- and how exactly are the kneazles going to react to a werewolf living in their home??! This I've got to see! Well, kneazles are supposed to be intelligent, so maybe it'll work out... Hmmm... HOPE it works out! I can certainly appreciate how difficult it was to write this chapter, but you did an excellent job! Looking forward to the next update already! :-)

    Author's Response:

Yes, it is an emotionally intense chapter.  Thank you for your review.  Nice to hear from you again! :) Thanks for the compliments.  They certainly make me smile.  Hope to hear from you again, soon.  ~ RK

Somehow, I missed your update! Sorry! But this chapter was definitely worth the wait-- What an incredibly moving funeral scene, tho' I'll admit to being shocked that Severus would actually set Ophelia's body on fire! // But I loved the fire-crabs! "That's just wrong." Ha! (Reminded me of a friend's 2yr-old son saying, "Mommy! I burped with my bum!", when he passed gas!) // And poor Tevin, trying to find out what the Killing Curse is... The answer will be horribly shocking when he finally realizes what he's been dreaming about. :-( // As for Remus, getting in touch with his "feminine side"-- you've left it rather generalized & up to our imaginations, but it might be interesting to see some of his struggles! // Neville's gran is awesome, the way she puts down the Death Eaters (as she knows them). I wish I could see the expression on the aristocratic Malfoys' faces! That obviously doesn't happen to them often! And the vulture hat just makes it perfect!!! Am waiting for the next terrific chapter! :-)

Author's Response: Well, you may have missed the update, but I missed your review for a while, there!  I'm glad you enjoyed the latest chapter.  The funeral scene was great fun yet greatly painful to write, but I am glad you found it worthwhile and enjoyable.  It was mainly inspired by Viking funeral rites, in which the corpse was set aflame on the water. Yes, Tevin is doing some investigating...not exactly a good sign.  Remus struggling with womanhood isn't a huge focal point for this one; I have to keep things moving with this.  I feel that going into his issues with that will just be a long tangent to the main chain of events in this story.  But it mightbe touched upon a little more in the sequel - who knows? And Gran Longbottom's vulture hat just had to make an appearance, especially ever since Snape looked so fetching in it in PoA.  Could not resist.  Hope to hear from you again at some point when the next few chapters get posted.  Thanks for reviewing! ~ RK

Hee! I absolutely LOVED the Fred & George scene! Diving under the table to grab the map was perfect! I could just see it! And it'll be interesting to see the meeting of Tevin & Ron-- how will Tevin react to the youngest Weasley boy, given that Draco has been his best friend for years? And if Tevin & Ron get on, what happens to the Tevin/Draco relationship when Draco comes face-to-face with Ron?! Something tells me this could be a WILD ride! ;-)

Author's Response: Thank you!  Fred & George have a small part in this story, but they are fun while they're around.  Things will be a little tense at the Burrow and Ron and Tevin's first meeting, that is for sure.  That will occur next chapter.  Hope to hear from you again when I keep going.  Only a few chapters left! Agh!  I'm shooting to have this beast finished by the end of July.  Stay tuned.  Thanks for reviewing! ~ RK

Oh, MAN!!! I saw this as Story of the Moment and clicked on it while sitting in my car in a parking lot... With the windows open... A body could get arrested for laughing that uncontrollably in public! Or-- taken AWAY! I don't think I'll ever be the same... Or ever view owls and grapes and bees and bucks the same way... Or ducks... Or towels... Or...

Harry never suspected Snape was looking out for him. Not even when the man protected him from an exploding cauldron. Slight AU.

Love the ending! Also, couldn't help laughing at the Slytherins sighing in relief, while the Gryffindors had the opposite reaction! Too funny! Cool detail about Snape's quarters being behind the tapestry. It made me wonder what sort of design Snape would have in the Potions dungeon-- if you write another story set in the classroom, you might describe Snape's choice/taste in tapestry design! Great first effort-- keep on writing! :-)

On Halloween night, Wizarding graveyards come to life. Hoping to talk to his parents, Harry sets off for Godric’s Hollow, only to find…someone is already there.

Wooooohhhh!!! The first ghost story I've read this season! This was beautifully detailed and wonderfully paced, and I got a genuine sense of 'place' in the library, the cottage, and the graveyard. The one criticism I had was Harry's use of "Godric's Hollow" in the Floo. Since that is the name of the town itself, I'd expected him to end up in a public Floo (like in the GH local pub), and I was quite surprised that he actually popped out of the Floo in his family's old cottage without giving more specific directions to the Floo!

Author's Response: O_O I didn't even realise the Floo thing, ugh. Sorry! Completly slipped my mind, and I'm happy that you mentioned it! Thank you for reviewing! I'm glad you liked it, ^_^

In a split second, a tragedy can occur, and lives can change, for better or for worse. For all those who wondered just what happened to Vi and Hal Evans, here is the answer. Takes place inbetween Where Shadows Go and Forbidden Flight.

When I spotted this on the Story of the Moment, the timing was perfect, since I had just finished "Where Shadows Go"-- and drat it, I still hadn't bought a new box of Kleenex! This story dealt with so MANY different aspects of loss and grief, and each one is handled beautifully. I hadn't thought how Dumbledore is the perfect person to give advice because he's nearly 3 times older and lost so many more loved ones than everyone around him. Also, facing the loss of the support Severus had counted on from his in-laws-- I totally know what it's like to face things alone because of lost support, tho' in my case, my "friends" chose to walk out when my life was more than they wanted to deal with or hear about. And poor little Harry, getting too many lessons about life & death at such a young age. I loved Sev telling off the woman at the cemetary! SAD story, but wonderfully written!

    Author's Response:

Thanks so much! I should have posted the Kleenex warning.

I wrote this while I was dealing with my own loss of a loved one .. . several actually, so I guess it just came out in how I wrote it.

I figured that Dumbledore should know more about grief than almost any of Sev's friends because of his age and how the older you get, the more people you lose.

Oh, tha's terrible. I'm so sorry to hear that.

Yeah, it's tough on Harry and Sev, but they'll get through it.

Halloween has always been painful for Harry, but the most unlikely person shows Harry that what started out as a tragedy, can be a miracle of love and rebirth.

Sirius!!! Remus!!! A haunted house!!! I couldn't stop laughing! That was wonderfully unexpected! ;-) !!!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you!  I love Sirius and Remus.
