Hi, I'm Gatewaygirl (Gg) of Livejournal, InsaneJournal, Dreamwidth, etc. My first post here was my old, epic Severitus challenge piece, Blood Magic. I don't write a lot of gen, but that one makes up for it in length. :-)

I recently posted a new (much shorter) story in that universe, Blood and Choice.

    I've put a number of characters in Hufflepuff, for that very reason. In 2004, the lj community hp100 ran a Sorting challenge, and I landed at least Ron and Crabbe and Goyle there. :-)

    Good chapter! Amusing how Harry had to talk the Hat IN to putting him in Slytherin, this time. I guess he's not desperate to prove himself, anymore. (Been there; done that....)

    This is great! I'm enjoying trying to figure out what's happening with everyone. I like your characterizations of Remus and Sirius -- both flawed, but still likable.

    Author's Response: Thanks! I try to give all characters their own problems to deal with so that they don't just exist for Harry (which I think is a big flaw in many stories: characters around Harry seem to have no interests other than to be... well, around Harry). Of course, writing from a single point of view (Harry's) sometimes makes it tricky to show everyone else's motivations.

    I wonder. Severus has this bad habit of assuming Harry is lying when he's telling the truth, but he's just as capable of assuming Harry's telling the truth when he's lying and saying what Severus expects to hear.

    I like the way you've woven bits of an altered OotP into this!
